https://youtu.be/qVwuxoZGhEAWatch my video above for the whole experience. After the pandemic, when the world started turning again, everything in Panglao started opening and the prices had gone up. Back then, we could book a room for around Php 1000-2000 but that's all history now because Panglao is alive again.
I mean, when you go along Alona Road, it feels like Boracay, you'll see Koreans, Japanese, Americans, and all other sorts of foreigners walking on the streets. If we visit a restaurant, like the Mist or Mosa, we would find ourselves surrounded by these foreign nationals. I am not against this but because of that, it is also given that we must spend thousands to enjoy a resort in this part of Bohol.
But for my birthday, my brother offered to pay for our dinner, and we then thought of spending a day in a pool instead. After a lot of looking and checking the prices, I thought of
North Zen Villa's Soak and Fun, which I found in one of the malls on the island.
I was surprised that this offer is available on
Klook! After finding the deal, I decided to book it. For me and my family, it was worth its price and I'll share why.
We arrived after lunch. We had to stop by Jollibee first and then proceed hereafter. The location is easy to spot as it's just along the road. And look at their entrance area! I already was thinking of a group picture here but we still have to go check in!
Booking with Klook was very easy. I just purchased the vouchers online and showed the front desk staff the digital vouchers, no need to print them! They were super accommodating and I saw some other guests who also availed the said package. The deal was worth PHP 380 per adult. Kids 3 years and below are free of charge!
Our kids were super excited! The package includes a free entrance to South Farm which is a great place for kids because they got many activities that kids could enjoy but since it was one in the afternoon already, we decided not to avail it anymore but just proceed to the pool!
The package allows day use from 6 AM to 10 PM! This is already a win as you can spend the entire day and plan it like morning arrival and voucher claim then have breakfast in their Seads restaurant using the consumable voucher, go to South Farm after and have lunch there then go back to South Farm to enjoy their pool then watch the sunset after at the Bamboo Walk and then have dinner at the Nest Restaurant.
But for us, we thought we could just stay here and let the kids enjoy the pool! It is spacious! There's a pool for kids and adults. It looked clean and well-maintained and very aesthetic too!
We love the cottages spread throughout the poolside. They even have a lanai made of bamboo and a lot of chairs for sitting. Cottages were free for all the day tour guests, too!
I consider this resort intimate; the room buildings are all identical and are located behind the pool. They surround the pool so all rooms have a view of it.
Let me show you around!

Here's an interesting Volkswagen car with growing shrubs. Behind is one of their villas. All villas are designed as such. They look very spacious to me! Rooms start at Php 10,000 and above for two!
Below is their Seads restaurant where we had dinner. We used our all consumable vouchers here but that will be for another blog. So watch out for it.
The restaurant is just a distance from the pool area, there's a common bathroom here too, and a few meters away from here are their shower room and the changing rooms. They all look well maintained too I must share.
The presence of so many trees, shrubs, and plants makes this place relaxed and calm. I mean, the sun was up that day but it didn't feel too hot.
My husband was a bit late as he had to go for an annual medical appointment so I asked my senior citizen mother to take photos of me! I instructed her and she did a great job! What do you think?
Here's my hired photographer that afternoon:

Of course, she has to also have her photos taken! She quite enjoyed the shooting time! There were not too many guests so it wasn't too awkward having a photo session!
Going back to the kids, these ones were really enjoying the pool and the sun! I am already happy seeing them happy, and bonding together is really what keeps the relationship stronger. I had to go swimming too and enjoyed their company. I am grateful for this time and thankful to my older brother for sponsoring.
Here's our angels, Ate Marivick and Gennie who are our help at home. Gennie is my sister in law's aunt who is also very helpful with taking care of the kids. They are both making our lives easier by cooking meals for us! Thank you Ate and Gennie!
More photos of the gang! I believe we all enjoyed the pool! Their poses shows that:
At four in the afternoon, we all got changed and headed to the Bamboo walk. This is one of the package inclusions. The Bamboo Walk is 500 meters into the mangrove forest. It is quite amazing that we have this in Bohol!
Mangroves are helpful for fish during reproduction and I am glad to learn that the resort has made efforts to preserve this!
There was signage along the way stating that there were no mangroves cut during the building of the bamboo walk. There were also no nails used here, only nylons and the bamboos look very sturdy and safe.
The kids reached the end of the bamboo walk first and they were all excited. They were running back and forth and their energies were still at the highest level while the adults and especially the seniors were the last to arrive. We were the first ones to go and after a little while, more and more guests were already in the Nest restaurant waiting for the sunset!
It was another opportunity to take photos! This time, it was my husband who did the shoot as he already arrived at the resort. It was a beautiful spot! I am truly happy that the weather was good and that everything was doing well not knowing that at the end of the day, something unfortunate would happen.
The sunset view was super amazing! I flew the drone as the sun was setting. There were guests in line for a photo opportunity at the end of the bamboo walk. I could see that was a great spot but I thought the sun would set before I could have my turn so we settled for our photos where our tables instead.
Speaking of the unfortunate thing that had happened, one of our cameras, the Osmo Pocket dropped into the water. My husband was upset but had forgiven my carelessness that same night.
Thankful to God for this opportunity and for the people in my life who have made me what I am today. To my family, my husband, my parents, and my brother, thank you so much! Ultimately, I am grateful to my Lord and Saviour for all that He has showered upon me.
Go to
North Zen Villas soon guys! I am not sure when are they offering their Soak and Fun package but it is still available on Klook. Go and book it
here!
The next blog will be about their Seads restaurant.
Photos were taken with Fujifilm X-T1 paired with Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 and XM5 paired with TT Artisanns 27mm f/2.8. The video was taken with DJI Osmo Pocket and DJI mini 2.
