A special greeting to all the Architecture and Design lovers in Hive! Today I want to share with you a place that captivated me from the first place, and where I have lived different emotions. It is the Sambil de Chacao Shopping Mall in Caracas. A big place five levels high and the only one in the city that can boast that I got lost inside it. Years go by and it is still one of the most popular in the capital and there is a network of the same franchise located in different areas of Venezuela.
¡Un saludo especial a todos los amantes de la Arquitectura y el Diseño en Hive!. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un lugar que me cautivó desde el primer lugar, y donde he vivido distintas emociones. Se trata del Centro Comercial Sambil de Chacao en Caracas. Un lugar grande de cinco niveles de altura y el único en la ciudad que puede alardear de que me perdí dentro de el. Pasan los años y sigue siendo de los más populares en la capital y hay una red de la misma franquicia ubicados en distintas zonas de Venezuela.
From the moment you enter you realize that you are in the presence of a magical place in terms of architecture and modernity. The corridors are very elegant and the interior colors are pleasing to the eye. It has five floors and the main entrance facing the Avenida Libertador de Caracas is actually the third floor from the bottom, so the first thing you encounter are the escalators to go up or down to the other levels. At the top you can see some sunlight coming in, so you always have extra lighting in every aisle of the mall.
Desde que entras te das cuenta que estás en presencia de un lugar mágico respecto a arquitectura y modernidad. Los pasillos son muy elegantes y los colores del interior agradables a la vista. Tiene cinco pisos y la entrada principal que da con la Avenida Libertador de Caracas es realmente el tercer piso desde abajo, así que lo primero que te encuentras son las escaleras eléctricas para subir o bajar a los otros niveles. En lo más alto se puede ver que entra algo de luz solar, así que siempre tiene iluminación extra en cada pasillo del cel centro comercial.
One of my favorite parts of this mall is on the Aquarium Level, and there really is a great little aquarium there. Since I met him about 15 years ago I try to spend at least a while and see how the fish are, and on this same level are some very striking sculptures, which are also my favorite of all the mall, and is that art is present in several areas.
Una de mis partes preferidas en este centro comercial queda en el Nivel Acuario, y es que realmente hay un pequeño gran acuario ahí. Desde que lo conocí hace como 15 años trato de pasar al menos un rato y ver como están los peces, y en este mismo nivel están algunas esculturas muy llamativas, que también son mis preferidas de todo el centro comercial, y es que el arte se hace presente en varias zonas.
There are several squares in this mall, which is where you can appreciate the escalators in a traffic circle. At the top there are beautiful and transparent circles to let the sunlight in, but adorned with many geometric shapes that gives the design of the architecture. These pictures I am sharing with you are of the highest level, where there are also several restaurants that make a perfect food fair and in fact you can count on a terrace full of businesses to drink or eat something outdoors, which is preferably better to visit in the evenings, since in Venezuela there is heat, but of course, that is up to each one...
Hay varias plazas en este centro comercial, que es donde se pueden apreciar las escaleras eléctricas en una redoma. En la parte superior hay círculos hermosos y transparentes para que entre la luz solar, pero adornada con muchas formas geométricas que da el diseño de la arquitectura. Estas fotografías que les estoy compartiendo es del nivel más alto, donde también hay varios restaurantes que hacen una feria de comida perfecta y de hecho se puede contar con una terraza llena de negocios para beber o comer algo al aire libre, que preferiblemente es mejor visitar en las noches, ya que en Venezuela hay calor, pero claro, eso es decisión de cada quien...
I rarely eat on the terrace, but that day was a special occasion because my mom was in town. I waited until the sun went down and it was really nice to be here. The tables are under a roof, but there are many aisles and no walls between the restaurants, so the breeze wafts through the whole area. In the center there is a small lake with its canals and fish swimming around further embellishing the experience of walking on the terrace of the mall, it can become magical to be here.
Pocas veces como en la terraza, pero ese día era una ocasión especial porque mi mamá estaba en la ciudad. Esperé hasta que se ocultara el sol y realmente fue muy agradable estar aquí. Las mesas si están bajo techo, pero hay muchos pasillos y no hay paredes entre los restaurantes, así que la brisa se pasea por toda la zona. En el centro hay un pequeño lago con sus canales y los peces nadan embelleciendo aún más la experiencia de caminar en la terraza del centro comercial, puede llegar a ser mágico estar aquí.
At the end of the day and after a couple of mojitos I went to see an area of the mall that I knew existed, but had never seen, and is that the parking lot is huge and reaches the terrace, and in that area there is also a space with several seats that is used for outdoor concerts, and I'm not talking about simple concerts like the ones I could have with the choir, but very important artists have sung here with a small audience, almost intimate. The best thing is that you can also appreciate something of the south of the Chacao Municipality, and since it was already night the view was more charming and romantic. Undoubtedly, the architect of this mall thought of everything to make the experience here unforgettable. Al final del día y luego de un par de mojitos me fui a conocer una zona del centro comercial que sabía que existía, pero que nunca había visto, y es que el estacionamiento es inmenso y llega hasta la terraza, y en esa zona también existe un espacio con varias butacas que sirve para hacer conciertos al aire libre, y no hablo de simples conciertos como los que yo podría tener con el coro, sino que artistas muy importantes han cantado aquí con un público reducido, casi íntimo. Lo mejor es que también se aprecia algo del sur del Municipio Chacao, y como ya era de noche la vista era más encantadora y romántica. Sin duda alguna, el arquitecto de este centro comercial pensó en todo para que la experiencia aquí sea inolvidable. Yo con mi amor por Caracas lo noto, no sé quienes lo ven como algo más cotidiano...
