Since I came to my adult life without children is a bit complicated to have days dedicated to go to the zoo, in fact if any of them come out it is not usually planned, but an experience with my friends with children or for work reasons, because yes, we have had choral concerts in zoos 😅 but in general I do not complain, I never see exotic animals, but it is a different experience and there is always some funny moment that remains stored in our minds. On this occasion it was just like that, one of my great friends wanted to take his daughter for the first time to this zoo, but I didn't know it either and I joined the adventure.
Desde que llegué a mi vida de adulto sin hijos es un poco complicado tener días dedicados a ir al zoológico, de hecho si sale alguno no suele ser planificado, sino una experiencia con mis amigos con hijos o por motivos de trabajo, porque sí, hemos tenido conciertos corales en zoológicos 😅 pero en general no me quejo, nunca veo animales exóticos, pero es una experiencia diferente y siempre hay algún momento divertido que queda guardado en nuestras mentes. En esta ocasión fue justo así, uno de mis grandes amigos quería llevar a su hija por primera vez a este zoológico, pero yo tampoco lo conocía y me sumé a la aventura.
I am talking about the Caricuao Zoo southwest of Caracas. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and in fact I wrote a couple of posts about that place, but I had not mentioned how much fun it is the contact area with the animals, and I had never been to a zoo like this one. The children could touch and feed them, in fact I am surprised that parents allow their little ones to touch these animals because even I didn't dare to; that day I touched a snake, but it was with all the care and help in the world, besides the snake looked healthy and clean, but as you can see in the first picture, I dared to give them carrots.
Les estoy hablando del Zoológico de Caricuao al suroeste de Caracas. Estuve ahí hace un par de semanas, y de hecho escribí un par de post sobre ese lugar, pero no había mencionado lo divertida que es la zona de contacto con los animales, y es que nunca había asistido a un zoológico como este. Los niños podían tocarlos y alimentarlos, de hecho me sorprende que los papás permitan que sus pequeños toquen estos animales porque ni yo mismo me atrevía; ese día toqué una serpiente, pero fue con todo el cuidado y la ayuda del mundo, demás de que la serpiente lucía sana y limpia, pero como ven en la primera foto, sí me atreví a darles zanahorias.
Of course I am talking about farm animals. In this area there were pigs, horses, cows, goats, many harmless animals and you can tell that they are used to interact with people. I think the strangest animal for me was the Alpaca, but they are quite friendly. Another thing I loved about this place is that there are several hills to sit on for camping or lounging under the trees and there are actually animals on the loose, usually turkeys that wander among the people looking for a tasty treat. I was not part of the camping, I preferred to photograph my friends and sit with my girl in a nearby tree to rest from the long walk, as the zoo is very large.
Por supuesto que les estoy hablando de animales de granja. En esta zonas había cerdos, caballos, vacas, chivos, muchos animales inofensivos y se nota que están acostumbrados a interactuar con las personas. Creo que el animal más extraño para mi era la Alpaca, pero todo bien con ellos, son bastante amistosos. Otra cosa que amé de este lugar es que hay varias colinas para sentarse en camping o descansar acostados bajo los árboles y de hecho hay animales sueltos, generalmente pavos que se pasean entre la gente buscando quien les haga un delicioso regalo. Yo no fui parte del camping, preferí fotografiar a mis amigos y sentarme con mi chica en un árbol cercano a descansar de la larga caminata, ya que el zoológico es muy grande.

This was a special day of many emotions for me, in fact there were so many events that I wrote four posts about it, and my only regret is that the felines didn't want to show up to be in any of my photos. This place is free and it is perfect to spend a different day in Caracas, even though it is so far away. We didn't take any food with us, we decided to buy it there and it was very economical. That same day I was told about another busy zoo here in Caracas, maybe this time I will take it more seriously and plan to go with my wife. Este fue un día especial y de muchas emociones para mí, de hecho hubo tantos acontecimientos que escribí cuatro posts al respecto y lo único que lamento es que los felinos no hayan querido asomarse para salir en alguna de mis fotos. Este lugar es gratis y es perfecto para pasar un día diferente en Caracas, aunque sea tan lejano. Nosotros no llevamos comida, decidimos comprar allá y era muy económico. Ese mismo día me hablaron de otro concurrido zoológico aquí en Caracas, quizás esta vez me lo tome más en serio y planee ir con mi esposa.
