There were a lot of tanks on the street and people were screaming and yelling and crying out in horror. Then the bombs started falling with everyone running for their lives, the city was thrown into utter confusion. In the chaos, 9-year-old Busisiwe was separated from her family. Wounded and weak, she crawled into an abandoned drainage tunnel on the outskirts of the war-torn village. Her dress was tattered and her breath was fast fading, she thought of her parents and her little brother in the dim light and prayed that they would always be kept safe. she closed her tear-stained eyes, shivering and waiting for the cold to take her.

It’s been quite a tough journey from January up until now, no doubt. There are things that have stressed me in different areas; physically and mentally. But amidst the tension and stress, I can’t fail to acknowledge the numerous blessings God have bestowed on me.

We all agree that marriage is the legal union of two people and is sealed by vows to stick together for the rest of their lives. And when you really think of it, "The rest of their lives" could be anything between 50-70 years and by my calculations, that is between 18250-25550 days, that is no small stretch of time, infact it takes a greater part of one's life.

This prompt "An Unforgettable Event" has brought a rush of memories and nostalgia. It was when I gave birth to my daughter. After I was done with university, I wondered what I’d do with my life; there were no jobs and NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) was going to take a bit of time before it got to my set. Staying at home and doing nothing, wasn’t something I wanted , so I thought of learning a skill.

I loved Choco!Sweet and adorable and foofy. The most perfectly amazing and loveable pet I have ever had.
