Magandang buhay!
It's a gorgeous Monday in DD - blue skies, plenty of sunshine, a little breeze, and except for the faint sound of tractors in the distance, it is generally quiet around here.
Wanting to get my dose of vitamin D at 9 in the morning, I spent some minutes with my plants, the beans specifically. Yesterday, one of the boys hung his jacket over the plant, and I had to remove it quickly or the flowers would wilt.
"Common B, there was a clothesline nearby. Do not mistreat my plants!" I pleaded, and everyone just laughed.
But yeah, I was super delighted to see they are fruiting, flowering, and thriving! Second to French beans (which unfortunately didn't germinate), this climbing plant is also our household's favorite. We like them sautéed, stir-fried, or roasted.

That is why we always make sure to leave some pods to mature so we can have seeds to plant again. We have a few now, one has already been stung by insects, but I think they will still make it. My father-in-law asked us on his last visit to keep some seeds for him to grow in his little garden. He likes them too, so yeah, we are keeping those in the lower stems (or branches) for him.

Some insects (maybe worms) started to ravage the leaves of the smaller ones beside the giant post. These reminded me that it's time to clear the weeds and grass around them. I am so guilty of postponing that work for days. Still not going to do any weeding today though.

Meanwhile, one of the pumpkins has grown buds, which I imagine would open up soon to some cheerful yellow flowers. They have shown one or two in the past weeks, as if the plants were teasing us, but no fruit yet. This is our first time growing them, so we are quite excited.
Well, we have enough patience and we are letting them take their time, and perhaps one day, they will eventually surprise us.

Somewhere in the yard (beside the greenhouse, which the husband uses as a storage for crates upon crates of potato seedlings and others), there are more small newly-germinated plants - a tomato showing positive growth on an upcycled powder detergent bag. I hope this survives, as we haven't had luck growing them successfully here.
The rosemary cuttings on some cans of Spam are not looking bad either. They are now greenish, which means they have already grown roots. We discovered they are a great repellent for mosquitoes, so we are growing more of them (they won't be for kitchen use). And oh, two beans are out too!

Well, after that wee yard visit, it was time to enjoy a cool treat, perfect for a hot midmorning. We simply could not resist it. It is such an extra creamy Nestle temptation indeed! Yum! Yum!😅

What a good start for the new week, huh? We are grateful, of course! We do love the little things in life. Cheers!
