Hola, Tuesday!
The election is over, and while some people are getting drunk and feeling sour about their candidates' losing in the polls, we are having a lovely and loud Tuesday here at the other house in the fam compound. Rock music is on the air, which is unusual, but somehow, everyone is game.
Ahjay, my niece is playing rock'n'roll with the lil guy, dancing (or rather jumping) to some tunes, lol! And here's to share three for Ablaze's Three Tune Tuesday initiative.

Cold As Ice

The song was released in 1977 for their self-titled debut album "The Foreigner" and was one of the singles that reached the top 10 in the US. It has been featured in Rock Band 3, Stranger Things, and SNL.
Accordingly, the group is one of the world's best-selling bands of all time. Their founding guitarist, Mick Jones, came up with the band's name "Foreigner" because half of their members are Americans, and half are British. The name "Trigger" was initially chosen, but was rejected. Pretty interesting, huh?
Anyways, moving on to the second tune:

Urgent

The band released this song in 1981 for their breakthrough album in the UK. It was one of three hit singles from the album. The song peaked at number one on Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs.
And the band's biggest hit single and one of the greatest songs of all time on the Rolling Stones' list takes the third spot for the day.

I Want to Know What Love Is

While the first two tunes are unfamiliar to me, this third is not. I have heard of this before. I liked it and sang it too.
The song was written by Jones and was released in 1984 for their 5th studio album, Agent Provocateur, the band's only number 1 album in the UK Albums Chart, and also topped the US singles chart.
Interestingly, the single was produced for over a year and had a change of producer. The song was a success despite the critics' savage comments on the band.
The group has undergone changes in its members over the years, and Mick Jones is the only active founding member to date. I am yet to listen to their recent albums or songs, but we have the whole day to check on them, but first, lemme do some cookin' because Dad's starving😅
