Life, News & Thoughts

Hola, world!
We were having a laid-back Thursday in DD, not that we had nothing to do, but with the restriction (from most activities and chores) still in place, I couldn't do much, really. It's been almost 4 weeks, and I'm starting to feel some boredom. Thankfully, I have the LilGuy to play with, lol!
Speaking of which, I took advantage of the power interruption in the morning to trim his hair with a pair of scissors. It was quite an exercise, but at least he was mostly quiet and not shrieking like he was being hurt. He often did with the electrical clipper.
Anyway, we were glad the electricity was restored in less than three hours. So I went on to browse for news (not what I normally do every day) and encountered something heartbreaking. A mother set her three kids on fire and then burned herself too. I was in disbelief and horrified. I even thought it was fake, but further inquiry (search) made me realize it really happened. It was all over the local news channels, and even on FB.

Accordingly, the woman went first to the authorities and filed a report that she and her husband had been having issues and that her mother-in-law was meddling with their affairs. She then did the unthinkable afterward.
I don't usually read the comment sections of news feeds or socmed posts, but I did that today. People were quick to give out their unsolicited opinions. Some were mean, one even said the mother was so weak to give up when her problems are nothing compared to this or that, others were attacking the husband, while many were expressing their anguish for the kids, voicing out their empathy with the mother, mentioning that depression and mental health issues are real.
I didn't know what to think, but I assumed believed nobody really knows what pushed her to do what she did, or maybe her husband does?
I closed my computer and went out before my mind started to take part in the blame game. Not that I didn't care, but I have to guard my thoughts because it can be hard to control when it starts to play scenarios. But I'm still bothered, to be honest, even while writing this. Did she reach out to others (apart from the authorities), and was she heard?
That made me think deeply, were there any incidents or instances where others may have tried to share their predicaments or troubles with me, but I was too self-centered to notice? not listening?
This will surely occupy my thoughts the rest of the day...
