Beautiful life, frens!
It is hard to miss flowers, no? Or are you one of those who just pass by them without giving them a second look? If that's you, then I would say you are a rare breed. Nah, I'm just kidding!
Flowers are one of those things around us that tend to attract our attention. Some are loud about their appreciation and say, "Wow! Wow!" while others enjoy them quietly and even from a distance. I am mostly of the former, although I can be the latter, especially at my lowest.
Yep, I still notice them, even when I'm down and there's turmoil within me. Their elegance and beauty draw me close to them. They make me marvel at their colors, fragrance, and intricate details. I feel lighter, peaceful, grateful, and more positive.
Strolling at Mt. Camisong park, these flowers of the pink trumpet vine took my breath away. The small buds, others slightly opening, and one fully blooming. I'm always mesmerized, although I have seen this type of flower many times, in different colors and various places.
I paused for these bamboo orchids, thriving and blossoming near the glass deck.
Further down, I was dazzled by the red Indian Head Ginger, pink and red Egyptian Starcluster, and Azaleas! They are effortlessly seductive in their own special way.
Flowers are a great stimulant, a mood booster, at least to me. They make me think of sunshine, friendship, relaxation, hope, love, contentment, and serenity. They inspire me even to heal, forgive, and let go.
I don't want to imagine how the world would be without them.
Anyhow, let me end this with the beautiful words of Walter Hagen, re:
You’re only here for a short visit. Don’t hurry, don’t worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.”
Something to remind us to slow down or take a break and enjoy the beauty around us, no matter how busy our lives may be.
