Hola Tuesday! A quiet one for us, with some old tunes on the airwaves, just like on the weekend. Would have loved to play some wilder ones, but Dad is around, so...
Tune 1 used to be one of my favorites during my late teenage years. My ex loved to play it, and this was when I got interested in musical instruments and started learning the guitar.
Bryan White - God Gave Me You
Released in 1999, this country song became Bryan's signature hit. His amazing vocals and heartfelt delivery made it even more memorable. I wonder, what would you feel if your significant other sang this emotional tune to you? I must admit being swept off my feet, lol!
The next is still an oldie, an R&B/Soul that was released in 1994 (although it may have been five years after I first heard it, I don't really remember). This is also an emotional love song that explores the pain of a heartbreak and the struggle of moving on.
Chris Walker - How Do You Heal a Broken Heart
The American musician featured this track on his second album, Sincerely Yours. The song has amassed millions of views on YouTube. From what I read, Chris Walker's music is popular in South Africa. I wonder if this is still true today.
Anyway, I love Walker's sincere vocal performance with a certain softness in his tone that enhanced the song's lyrics and theme.
The last tune is a cover by a Filipino band. I recently discovered them and thought they were quite cool. I love how relaxed they appear as they performed most of their covers.
Eastside Band - Count on You
Accordingly, the band was formed while they were in the university, and they performed side gigs to support their school allowances. Their fame started in 2019, when a video of them singing went viral.
And oh, I just remembered! Anthony Uy, the band's vocalist, collaborated with the Canadian Duo, Music Travel Love, where they performed covers of the songs "How Deep Is Your Love" and "My Love." Accordingly, these collabs taught Anthony new vocal techniques and how to sing properly.
The collaboration continued with a sold-out concert at the SM Skydome in Manila two years ago.
The Eastside band did covers of popular classic songs by artists such as Air Supply, Bee Gees, Anne Murray, and many others. It would be interesting to see if they showcase their own songs in the near future.
And with that, ends this edition of my participation in the TTT initiative by Ablaze. Hope these tunes didn't make you feel sleepy, hehe! Thank you and until next time!
