Summer holidays in the warm embrace of Sardinia

Hello hive community. Today I will share with you my summer story, which took place on the warm island of Sardinia. It is the second largest island in the Mediterranean, which today belongs to Italy, but the influence of other cultures can still be felt on it. The entire island consists of eight provinces and has a population of 1,663 million. Each of the provinces is something unique and you can find many natural and historical attractions in it.
In Livorno, we took a ferry that took us 8 hours across the sea to the port of Olibia.
Since we arrived late, we drove to the nearest beach where we slept. I haven't mentioned yet that we have an all-terrain vehicle that carries a tent on the roof. We converted it into a travel vehicle. Inside we have a box that is intended for storing things and cooking.
Every morning I made coffee and prepared breakfast. After we had eaten, we started to explore the parts of Sardinia. Unfortunately, high temperatures sometimes interfered with our plans. The sea was turquoise, warm, but due to the large number of tourists it was difficult to find a free spot on the beach where I could lie down. Because of this, we went to the beach wearing only bathing suits. In summer, of course, we love beer, which was also on the menu every day. We drank their traditional Ichnusa beer.
We saw many cities. I liked the city of Bosa the most. Colorful, cheerful, full of stalls of various products. At every corner there were pleasant little restaurants that offered amazing food. We both ate a fish plate.
We experienced a beautiful sunset on Is Arutas beach. Is Arutas beach stretches for several kilometers, it has a clear sea whose colors are between green and blue. It is known as the beach of the grains of rice, being composed of small grains of quartz, which shades range from pink, to green, to pure white. The incoming tide caused the sea to swell wildly. The seagulls flew above us and conjured up an even more beautiful scene.
Footpaths led to the most beautiful beaches. We went to Cala Sisine beach. We walked for about 45 minutes. We were alone on the beach. The sea cooled us down, the soft sand allowed us to have a pleasant rest. This beach was my favorite.
Historical documents state that Sardinia has 105 coastal towers, which from the Middle Ages to the 19th century served as a warning to enemies from the sea. They were also used to communicate and warn of danger with smoke signals, fire and bells. Today, the towers are abandoned and you can find them on almost every beach in Sardinia, adorning the view of the wide sea.
I hope you enjoyed reading my article. I wanted to show you modest pieces of this island.
See you in the next post
