My Bleeding Heart Story

The name of this plant is bleeding heart and I did not know this name earlier. So it all started a year ago when I left home thinking that today I will bring home a unique flower plant from the nursery. After walking 1.5 km, I reach the nursery where a single shining plant among thousands of plants casts a spell on me.

Without knowing the name, I buy it and bring it home and plant it in a pot and keep looking at it. I have seen such a flower for the first time in my life, a red flower comes out from within its white flower and this process is very beautiful. Later I search its name on Google and Google tells that the name of this wonderful flower plant is “bleeding heart”.

After reading the name, I look at the red flower that comes out from within the white flower, then I come to know that the red flower is almost in the shape of a heart and seeing this, its beauty increases further in my mind. It is called Raktjhari in Hindi which means “the flower from which blood flows”. By the way, its scientific name is Lamprocapnos spectabilis and this plant is mainly found in Japan, China and Korea.

According to the information received from Google, some parts of this plant are also poisonous and it should be kept away from children. Talking about India, the Lower Himalayas located in North India are suitable for this and provide an easy environment for this plant to grow. I have only this one plant right now but I would like it to grow and I can grow it with its vines.

Its growth would have been more in the last one year but due to a storm a few months ago, its pot broke and its growth stopped suddenly, this plant started drying and finally all its leaves and branches dried up. It took about 8 months to revive it and finally now it has started flowering. I am happy that our plant has grown up. Have you also seen this plant before?
