Two days ago, I have set up my own Hive engine witness light node. I was using different tutorials of @rishi556 and @bala41288 which helped me a lot and explained nearly everything. Within yesterday morning the witness server was up and running.
This is the first witness node I have set up and I run into some small issues as the tutorials are a bit older (from 2021) and some things have changed in the meantime.
But I will create a new tutorial the next weeks for all people who wanna create an own node to have it more easy then.

Thanks to @primersion I got a actual light snapshot (~5.5 GB) of the blockchain data which I imported into the Mongo database in under 30 minutes. After starting my node around 13000 blockchain transactions were missing and needed to be synchronized to be 0 blocks ahead. I guess this took around another hour.

First problem after a short time:

This night I had my first divergent block and another one this morning while synchronizing. @primersion was so kind to inform me about that issue and after using the command node find_divergent_block.js I found the missing block. That wasnt to good at all for me 😕

That meant I had to stop my node first. Next step was to download a new snapshot for restoring my database with the new blockhain data. After that I needed to start my node again and catch up the blockchain transactions again to be 0 blocks ahead to switch it back to live.

Now I am waiting for my first block to get signed by my node.

My server stats:

I decided to rent a root server at Netcup a very great provider where I already rent a web server. Its better to have a dedicated server to have guaranteed ressources instead of sharing them when using an VPS for example.
(If you need some affiliate codes for saving up some month of costs for a server or getting some perecentages on the bill for web space please let me know about it as I can share some codes with you)

Stats:
Operating system: Ubuntu 20.4
4 CPU Cores
256 Gigabyte SSD Storage
8 Gigabyte of RAM
These are values necessary to run a light node as I do.

Final words

Now that the server is running without any issues Im very happy to have it live to support the community with signing their transactions. In the end it wasnt that complicated to set up one but a bit challeging.
Still waiting on my first block while writing these last lines 😇

How you can support me now?

If you have already staked "WORKERBEE" token or you wanna do it in the future go to https://primersion.com/he-witnesses and login in at the left top. After that you can search for my witness server: @herman.witness and you can vote on the right side with the checkmark.

You see a red checkmark when your vote was successful

Thanks for reading and have a great day 💪
