I wanted to take a moment to let the Steem community know that earlier this afternoon I made the decision to resign from my position as Blockchain Engineer at SteemIt, Inc. This decision has been difficult for me to say the least; I am going to take a little time to myself and collect my thoughts.

Hey all!This certainly has been an interesting week for me. With the announcement of the acquisition and the press releases, it surely has felt like a whirlwind. I am still learning details alongside the rest of the community and I’m hopeful things will become more and more clear as time moves forward.

Hello Steemians, I’m Steve and I’m a blockchain engineer at Steemit, Inc. In the following video I chat with @andrarchy (Head of Communications at Steemit) about how I came to Steemit, what I’ve been doing since I joined the team about a year ago, and where I see Steem going in the future. I also talk about the work I’ve been doing more recently on SMTs, and what work remains to be done.

Without MIRA, the requirement of RAM to run a node will grow indefinitely which is clearly unsustainable. To extend our runway into the distant future, MIRA-enabled nodes will primarily be used. MIRA is based on RocksDB technology which is highly configurable and somewhat complex. MIRA will behave differently on different pieces of hardware so it is virtually impossible to create a "one-size fits all" configuration; therefore it is important to provide a way for users to get the most performance from their particular hardware. This guide aims to do just that. This guide should be kept up-to-date and improved within the repository for documentation purposes. Hi, it’s me Steve again. In case you missed my introduction post (), I’m one of the blockchain developers here at Steem. I’m excited about the work we’re doing on SMTs and I’d like to talk briefly about some of our efforts around Smart Media Tokens. There is no doubt the team wants to push out a great product as soon as possible. Part of the strategy here is to strip out features that do not provide value.
