This weekend

Saturday

Right at this moment I'm sitting in a cafe waiting for a fellow to arrive with whom I have a meeting; it's a long (and private) story but to summarise, the chap has post-traumatic stress and is one of the people my support group assists.
He's relatively new to the group having been referred to us by another chap and this is only my second meeting with him. It's just coffee and a chat really, no deep diving into his issues, a friendly ear to listen if he wants to talk, with the view to further assess if we can help or his case needs to be escalated to a much more professional and qualified person. I'm also just someone for him to hang out with as he's managed to become quite disconnected from society. Anyway, he's just messaged me and said he's on the way. Great, I like punctuality.
This weekend I have two such appointments, both today, and a catch up with some of the co-leadership of my support group to discuss plans for an event we would like to hold in the coming months. That's just an excuse for a burger and some beers really, although some discussions and plans will (probably) ensue. Other than that, Saturday will pass by quietly.

Sunday

I'm not into Valentines Day and all that commercial rubbish maintaining that every day is Valentines Day in my household; we prefer to make doing nice things for each other a common and daily occurrence; I'm fortunate my girl-person feels the same way. It takes different forms, sometimes simply kind words or gestures, a note left, a track sent by text to convey some feelings, wandering hands (I like this one a lot), nights out, romantic picnics, breakfast in bed, doing all the chores so the other doesn't have to do any...the list is long.
This particular Sunday starts in a way that I'm not willing to speak about and follows on to breakfast, something a little different and more complex from a typical breakfast we might have.
I'm doing toasted bagels topped with cream cheese and smoked salmon, dill and capers with a side of my world famous fucken cheesy and awesome scrambled eggs. Most would just call them scrambled eggs but I'm trying to talk my efforts up a little here so play along. Coffee will also happen of course and we'll eat outside in our alfresco area with soft music and talking. I'm taking my girl on a picnic later so I'll pack and make ready and then we'll be off into some really nice autumn weather to find a secluded country location and spend the afternoon eating, snoozing, listening to music and...well, never you mind what else.
I'm making dinner later, a very simple platter for us to pick over while we watch some episodes of the series we're watching, season two of House of the Dragon. Afterwards I'll be running a bath for that girl of mine - her love of bubble baths is legendary - and later on...again, none of your business...that's if I have any energy left. (Note: Of course I fucken will!)

So that's my weekend in a nutshell.
It'll be pretty good over all I think. Let me know what you're up to if you want to and, of course, feel free to share your #saturdayselections music in a post similar to this one and drop it into the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community if you're keen. You can see three of the tracks I've listened to below.
