Although it had already been released for some time, it wasn't until 3 days ago that I was finally able to finish the second (and last?) season of one of the best video game adaptations that have been made in recent years, and that is Castlevania. After an excellent first series where the protagonist was the charismatic and sarcastic Trevor Belmont, Castlevania: Nocturne is set 200 years after the events of the first series, being this time Richter Belmont, who many consider one of the strongest Belmont of the saga. After that ending of the first season, where Alucard makes a triumphant entrance eliminating those who were attacking Ritcher and his friends, this second season starts off quite strong as it is the beginning of the final war.
I won't go into too many spoilers in this little review, but this season without sweat was much better than the first, not only in terms of animation and art style, which is a marvel, since the improvement in that aspect that we can see in this second season is crazy, but also in terms of character development was made much more in line with the situation that the characters are living and especially, we can empathize much better with other characters that in the first season perhaps were not so well treated. Ritcher is one of the characters that has better development in the season, not only at a plot level, but in terms of power is crazy what this character got to improve, showing that the union that originated Trevor and Sypha after that end in the first series, gave rise to a class of very powerful Belmont and is quite well demonstrated in this season.

We will also see appearances of other Belmont as is Juste, which I would have liked to show a little more of this character, as I consider that only served as a support character in certain events that happen in the story and its importance in this season was overshadowed by other events and characters. Maria is a character that many people did not like since the first season and in this one she becomes a little more "hateful" because she has a very marked objective with respect to the French revolution and in addition, there is also the issue that her mother was turned into a vampire and it is an event that was left a little unfinished in the series, also that farewell that mother and daughter had was a little insipid, although in the final minutes of the final episode they hint that this plot can continue in future seasons, I hope so.

Alucard was excellent from beginning to end, he showed all the experience he gained in his years of travels and in all the years he got to spend with various members of the Belmont family. Unlike the first series and for obvious reasons, he did not have so much prominence, but whenever he appeared on screen was to do something spectacular or just be himself in the coolest way possible. It really was an excellent series, however there is an issue regarding the series that is worrying me and it is that at the end of the first season of Castlevania: Nocturne a second season was confirmed, which has just ended, but at the end of this second season they have not announced a third and it is quite strange considering that it is left to understand that there are several themes that could continue in a hypothetical third season, so I hope that the production of this excellent series has not been canceled, but being Netflix the producer of the series, it would not be something to be surprised.

Aunque ya tenía tiempo de haberse estrenado, no fue apenas hasta hace 3 días que por fin pude terminar la segunda (y ultima?) temporada de unas de las mejores adaptaciones a videojuegos que se han hecho en los últimos años y esa esa Castlevania. Luego de una excelente primera serie donde el protagonista era el carismático y sarcástico Trevor Belmont, Castlevania: Nocturne se sitúa y si no me equivoco 200 años después de los acontecimientos de la primera serie, siendo esta vez Richter Belmont, al que muchos consideran uno de los Belmont más fuertes de la saga. Luego de ese final de la primera temporada, donde Alucard hace una entrada triunfal eliminando a aquellos que estaban atacando a Ritcher y a sus amigos, esta segunda temporada empieza bastante fuerte ya que es el inicio de la guerra final.
No entraré muchos en spoilers en esta pequeña review, pero esta temporada sin suda fue muchísimo mejor que la primera, no solo en términos de animación y estilo artístico, el cual es una maravilla, ya que la mejora en ese aspecto que podremos ver en esta segunda temporada es una locura, sino que también términos de desarrollo de personaje se hizo bastante más acorde la situación que están viviendo los personajes y especialmente, podremos empatizar mucho mejor con otros personajes que en la primera temporada quizás no fueron tan bien tratados. Ritcher es uno de los personajes que mejor desarrollo tiene en la temporada, no solo a nivel argumental, sino que en términos de poder es una locura lo que llegó a mejorar este personaje, demostrando que la unión que originó Trevor y Sypha luego de ese final en la primera serie, dio origen a una clase de Belmont muy poderosos y queda bastante bien demostrando en esta temporada.

También veremos apariciones de otros Belmont como lo es Juste, el cual me hubiese gustado que mostraran un poco más de este personaje, ya que considero que solo sirvió como personaje soporte en ciertos eventos que suceden en la historia y su importancia en esta temporada quedó opacada por otros acontecimientos y personajes. Maria es un personaje que muchas personas no les gustaba desde la primera temporada y en esta se torna un poco más “odiosa” al tener un objetivo bastante marcado con respecto a la revolución francesa y además, también está el tema de que su madre fue convertida en vampira y es un acontecimiento que quedó un poco inconcluso en la serie, además esa despedida que tuvieron madre e hija fue un tanto insípida, aunque en los minutos finales del episodio final dan a entender que esta trama puede continuar en próximas temporadas, eso espero.

Alucard fue excelente de principio a fin, demostró toda la experiencia que obtuvo en sus años de viajes y en todos los años que llego a pasar con varios miembros de la familia Belmont. A diferencia de la primera serie y por motivos obvios, no tuvo tanto protagonismo, pero siempre que aparecía en pantalla era para hacer algo espectacular o simplemente ser el mismo de la manera más genial posible. Realmente fue un excelente serie, sin embargo hay un tema con respecto a la serie que me está preocupando y es que al final de la primera temporada de Castlevania: Nocturne se confirmó una segunda temporada, la que acaba de terminar, pero al terminar esta segunda temporada no han anunciado una tercera y es bastante raro teniendo en cuenta que se deja entender que hay varios temas que podrían continuar en una hipotética tercera temporada, por lo que espero que la producción de esta excelente serie no haya sido cancelada, pero siendo Netflix la productora de la serie, no sería algo de sorprender.
