Gorodische is a microdistrict of the city of Krasavino, which is located on a hill. In general, all the hills of the city represent a very ancient bank of the Northern Dvina River.
There have been no global changes in five years – the roads are still broken, the houses are still standing.

Even the dugout is standing.

Why do I very often talk in my posts about the criteria for the comfort of a place, such as height differences, rivers, architecture, chaotic buildings, landscaping, etc.?

Look at the place I grew up in – it's a fairy tale!

Towering fir trees, height differences of hundreds of meters, many rivers, randomness and architecture are all around.

That's why it's very difficult for me to feel anything in places where it's not there.

There are even peculiar rocks in my area – these are the steep banks of the Sukhona River in a place called Opoki. In Krasavino, there is also such a thing on the Northern Dvina, on the other bank.

And now about the height difference: how many floors is this hill if a five-story building looks tiny in the distance?

Houses stand not only at the very top and at the very bottom, but also on intermediate "steps".

There weren't so many trees before, and the view was even more interesting.

Go to the grocery store downstairs, and then come back up with full bags!

To clarify: there is no store on the Gorodische, only down!

And there is also no running water here – you are welcome to go to the well for water! I went. Moreover, it was necessary to go down the stairs a little bit, and then two hundred meters with a small rise and full buckets to go back.

One of the new things I noticed was that pipes with a gas pipeline began to come across. This is progress!

All my childhood I helped to harvest firewood, sawed, chopped, stacked in a woodpile, heated the stoves.

In summer – vegetable garden, mushrooms, berries, fishing.

It was lucky that Grandma didn't have any livestock.

Otherwise, I would have learned more about haymaking...Unfortunately, I didn't get to.

...So after Krasavino, how can I be surprised at other places where there is nothing like this?

Sometimes, there are mini-versions or vaguely reminiscent of childhood places.

But so far for me Krasavino is the standard of the place's interest.

It's the most hilly, wooded, articulate, architectural, and chaotic place I've ever seen.

I did not go through the Gorodische to the end, but decided to spend time on other paths of childhood.

To be continued...
