Muchos pero muchos dÃas sin pasar por aquà pues por más que he intentado mantener el ritmo a mi blog, me ha costado muchÃsimo porque no he parado, literal no he tenido ni un solo dÃa libre en las últimas tres semanas. Ha ido todo cuesta arriba, pero para bien y como seguimos sin computadora, no es que sea lo más cómodo del mundo trabajar los posts desde el celular.
Pero hoy por fin tengo un dÃa libre, que además de ser el dÃa del trabajador, quise tomarlo completamente para poner en orden mi vida y retomar aquellos proyectos que he dejado atrás, como este, que para mà siempre ha sido súper importante y genera mucho pesar el no haberlo continuado por tales motivos.
Muchas cosas por contar que se han ido acumulando más y más con el paso de los dÃas asà que comencemos.
Les cuento que he creado un club de tejedoras en Lakrearte para poder compartir con otras personas que amen el tejido tanto como yo y al mismo tiempo poder aprender de sus experiencias.
Primero cree el nombre, acorde a nuestra esencia. "Echando Aguja". Luego hice un flyer para invitar a quienes quisieran formar parte de esta bonita iniciativa.
Y asà poco a poco se fueron sumando varias mujeres. Cree el grupo y pautamos nuestro primer encuentro para el mes de marzo.
Hi everyone!
It's been many, many days since I've been here. As much as I've tried to keep up with my blog, it's been incredibly difficult because I haven't stopped. I literally haven't had a single day off in the last three weeks. It's been a real uphill battle, but in a good way. And since we still don't have a computer, it's not exactly the most comfortable thing in the world to work on posts from my phone.
But today I finally have a day off, which, besides being Labor Day, I wanted to use completely to get my life in order and pick up those projects I've left behind, like this one, which has always been super important to me, and it's really sad not to have continued it for these reasons.
There are so many things to share that have been piling up more and more as the days have gone by, so let's get started.
I'm excited to share that I've created a knitting club on Lakrearte so I can connect with other people who love knitting as much as I do and, at the same time, learn from their experiences.
First, I created the name, in keeping with our essence: "Echando Aguja" (Stitching Needles). Then I made a flyer to invite anyone who wanted to be part of this wonderful initiative.
And so, little by little, several women joined. I created the group and scheduled our first meeting for March.
Ese dÃa asistieron cinco personas, dos de ellas eran mis alumnas de crochet que las invité a participar. El único requisito que habÃa para estar presente era que tenÃan que llevar algo para compartir con el resto.
Tuvimos de todo un poco, tequeños, refresco, jugo, Pepitos y hasta un pequeño pastelito que llevó una de las señoras y estaba delicioso.
Five people attended that day, two of whom were my crochet students whom I invited to participate. The only requirement for attending was that they bring something to share.
We had a little bit of everything: tequeños, soda, juice, Pepitos, and even a small cake that one of the ladies brought, which was delicious.
Como temática de la reunión tomamos la celebración del dÃa de las flores amarillas que era el 21 de marzo para elaborar flores de ese color.
La mayorÃa escogimos hacer un girasol y les debo confesar que a mà me costó bastante por el tema de concentración. No soy muy buena para hacer alguna actividad frente a otras personas y mientras hablo pero querÃa cumplir con el objetivo de la reunión asà que me obligué a terminarla.
The theme for the meeting was the celebration of Yellow Flower Day, which was on March 21st, and we decided to make yellow flowers.
Most of us chose to make a sunflower, and I must confess that it was quite difficult for me because of the concentration issue. I'm not very good at doing activities in front of other people, especially while talking, but I wanted to achieve the meeting's objective, so I forced myself to finish.
Fue una tarde súper agradable tejiendo, conociéndonos, nos dimos cuenta de que unas de las participantes eran vecinas y no tenÃan ni la más remota idea de que conocÃan a tantas personas en común.
Fue bien chistoso la verdad y es que Cabimas es un pueblo bastante pequeño y todos se conocen o por lo menos saben de su existencia.
El poder conectar a través de una actividad asà es algo maravilloso porque puede compartir tu hobby con otras personas y pasar un momento completamente diferente y fuera de la rutina haciendo lo que te gusta.
En cuanto los resultados no todas lograron terminar porque escogieron proyectos muy grandes y la conversación estuvo tan amena que no pudieron enfocarse del todo en lo que estaban haciendo.
Pero se logró el objetivo de la actividad que era compartir tejiendo. Esta fue la primera de dos reuniones que llevamos hasta ahora. La próxima será la semana que viene, asà que trataré de contarles antes de que ocurra cómo nos fue en esta segunda reunión.
It was a really lovely afternoon knitting and getting to know each other. We realized that some of the participants were neighbors and had no idea they knew so many people in common.
It was quite funny, actually, because Cabimas is a pretty small town and everyone knows each other, or at least knows of each other's existence.
Being able to connect through an activity like this is wonderful because you can share your hobby with other people and spend a completely different time, away from your routine, doing what you love.
As for the results, not everyone managed to finish because they chose very large projects, and the conversation was so lively that they couldn't fully focus on what they were doing.
But the goal of the activity, which was to share through knitting, was achieved. This was the first of two meetings we've had so far. The next one will be next week, so I'll try to tell you how this second meeting went before it happens.
