Wednesday Walk: A Stroll Along the Canal Towpath

2025-04-23T16:54:51
On a sunny day, we took a walk along the local canal towpath. The water was dead calm, and we enjoyed seeing the reflections and the lush greenery next to the blue sky, along the way.
We saw a statue of a white rabbit across the canal. I think it was part of an Easter Trail for children who had been visiting the area.
When we reached the bridge over the canal, we noticed a humorous sign that read, "it's narrow 'ere duck." This sign serves as a warning for people to be careful because the towpath gets narrower in that area. It also reminds walkers to watch out for cyclists etc who might be coming from the opposite direction. In my area , using "duck" is a friendly term, which adds a nice local touch to the warning sign.
We walked to the next lock and then back as a dark cloud gathered above us. There was no place to hide if it started to rain.
Luckily, we only had a few brief moments of rain. After that, the sun returned, bringing back sunny weather.
