On Christmas Day morning, I had a walk to the old factory that has stood derelict for many years. This factory, now serves as a great canvas for graffiti artists to express their creativity. The artists frequently update their work. Each visit reveals something new, making it a place that keeps on giving. Though it is sad that the previous artworks are painted over, it's great to see something fresh and new.
The Birdcage Café is a popular place renowned for good food and great coffee. Fortunately for us, we stumbled upon a table that had been reserved but not for another hour. While waiting for our breakfast, which was a vegetarian fry up and eggs benedict, we decided to order our coffees, a decaffeinated latte, and a black americano.
I popped down to see the Santa Run in the local park. It's not just a fun event; it is a charity initiative that brings the locals together while supporting a local hospice. This annual event invites individuals to dress up in festive Santa suits. I've never seen so many Santas in one place before.
I went for an early morning stroll around my village. After a night of rain, the rainfall had caused a bit of flooding down at the restaurant next to the lido. Water had pooled around the entrance. This is my entry to the Reflection Hunter's Contest. Thank you to @olgavita and the team for organising the contest.
As I left my village and entered the countryside, I noticed that the fog started to get thicker. Thankfully, I could still see in front of me. I got there safely, so I parked up and made my way into the woods. The thick fog enveloped the trees. Someone had been doing some bushcrafting. It was quite a good effort.
Today, we decided to pay a quick visit to a lovely little café called Quackers at Thornbridge Hall. We were pleased to see that dogs are still welcome at Quackers. In 2002, the actual Hall was bought by the Harrison family. Emma had previously visited the Hall as a child and dreamt of owning it. Along with her husband, Jim they renovated the Hall, gardens and added the little gem of a café that you see today. I presume the café is called Quackers, because it is situated near a fountain that features rubber ducks for the children to play with during the summer months (and the odd adult). I think it's a fun touch that makes the café stand out.
