Hola, espero que estén bien. Yo soy Eli, así me conocen mis amigos. Aunque es un tema particular mi nombre. Realmente es una abreviatura de lo que me gustaría, fuese mi nombre. Para mí significa un nuevo comienzo, empezar de cero, la oportunidad de ser alguien mejor. ![IMG_20220712_184641_837.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/elizabethgrey/23qrNYmhdGA5ZcqhQKNE544XmVMPEUVpyiL2onqayopHW8DZGcLsv9Cvv8phi5FDJU1K6.jpg) Contándoles un poco acerca de mí: Tengo 22 años; soy universitaria, estudio ciencias básicas, mención en química; Nací y crecí en una pequeña ciudad de Venezuela, que lleva por nombre Ciudad Bolívar. Soy la menor de tres hermanos, siempre estuve rodeada de muchos primos, así que no fui realmente la más chiquita. Cuando cumplí los 16 años estaba lista y con la idea de que debía crecer, debía independizarme. Gracias a la universidad, tuve la excusa perfecta para irme de mi casa, con todo el apoyo de mis dos padres. Fue el escape perfecto, porque aunque ambos me aman muchísimo, vivía en un hogar disfuncional. Cuando se tiene una familia tan grande como la mía, siempre van haber problemas, disconformidades, malos entendidos, y esa sensación de que podía aspirar a algo mejor. Al mudarme descubrí muchas cosas de mí que no sabía. O tal vez, que si sabía pero a las que nunca les había dado tanta importancia. Siempre he sido buena con las manualidades, de pequeña hice muchos cursos para hacer trabajos en foami, haciendo bisutería o artesanías. Siempre se me dieron ese tipo de actividades. Pero nunca hice nada de eso un trabajo particular. Hasta que claramente lo necesité. La pandemia nos pegó de distintos modos a todo, a mí en lo particular, financieramente. Mi padre siempre vió por mí en lo monetario, y sé que estaba particularmente agotado, quise cambiar eso. Una de las cosas que descubrí, hace poco más de dos años, es que era buena también cosiendo. Y muy buena, nunca tomé un curso o algún tipo de adiestramiento, pero en cuanto me propuse que ese sería mi nuevo trabajo, lo logré. Hoy en día tengo un emprendimiento, algo en lo que soy buena. Me dedico a hacer trajes de baño principalmente. Empecé poco a poco, sin una maquina, cosiendo a mano, con un solo pedido, y un alma bondadosa que creyó en mí, y en lo que yo era capaz de hacer. ¡Hoy en día tengo muchos pedidos a la semana! Pero la gran mayoría son propios. Tengo miedos como cualquiera. Y siento. Esa creo que es mi mayor virtud, y también mi más grande defecto. Tengo muchas emociones, mucho que decir, mucho que contarles. Desde pequeña me ha gustado escribir, siempre me podías ver con un cuaderno anotando cada cosa que se me ocurría. Lo miraba como una forma de desahogarme, una forma de ser escuchada, o en este caso, de ser leída. Corro con la suerte de haber tenido una buena infancia, nunca me faltó nada, tengo padres amorosos y hermanos que siempre están para mí. Pero también tuve personas malas a mí alrededor, que me hicieron sentir insegura de quién era, o de lo que yo podía dar de mí. Crecí sintiendo que no era apreciada, que no era entendida. Crecí con muchas cosas dentro que no podía decir por miedo. Pero podía escribirlas, nadie podía robar mis palabras; no le dices nunca a un escritor lo que tiene que escribir, simplemente dejas que sus palabra te lleguen. Y yo quería eso, que mis palabras le llegaran a esas personas que tanto me habían lastimado. Dejé de escribir hace unos años, aún tengo cosas que decir, pero ya no me interesa tanto que esas personas me escuchen. Dejé de escribir porque dejé de sentirme triste. *¿Cómo llegué a Hive?* Mi hermana mayor @albanyescribe conoció hive y comparte mucho por aquí. Ella me vio crecer, tal vez ella si podía ver lo mucho que yo quería expresarme. Me trajo aquí para ello, y se lo agradezco. Es una mujer increíble a la cual admiro muchísimo. Es una buena mamá, una de las de ahora. Todos los días me busca enseñar a su modo de que no hay que aferrarse tanto a los pasados malos. Que lo importante es enfocarse en un buen futuro. Aun no sé que iré a escribir aquí, aún eso no lo decido, tal vez busque inspiración en mis viejos cuadernos o me inspire de alguna nueva manera, pero sé que voy a seguir tratando de dejar lo mejor de mí en mis palabras. Espero que me sigan leyendo a partir de ahora y compartir mucho más con todos aquellos que hacen vida dentro de hive. When I moved, I discovered many things about myself that I didn't know. Or maybe, that I did know, but I had never given them so much importance. I have always been good with crafts, when I was a child I took many courses to do foami work, making jewelry or crafts. I was always good at those kinds of activities. But I never made any of it a particular job. Until I clearly needed it. The pandemic hit us all in different ways, me in particular, financially. My father always looked out for me monetarily, and I know he was particularly exhausted, I wanted to change that. One of the things I discovered, a little over two years ago, that I was also good at sewing. And very good, I never took a course or any kind of training, but as soon as I set my mind that that would be my new job, I did it. Today I have a business venture, something I'm good at. I mainly make swimsuits. I started little by little, without a machine, sewing by hand. I started with just one order, a kind soul who believed in me, and in what I was capable of doing. Today I have many orders a week! But the vast majority are my own. I have fears like anyone else. And I feel. That I think is my greatest virtue, and also my greatest flaw. I have a lot of emotions, a lot to say, a lot to tell you. Since I was a little girl I have liked to write, you could always see me with a notebook writing down everything that came to my mind. I saw it as a way to let off steam, a way to be heard, or in this case, to be read. I am lucky to have had a good childhood, I never lacked for anything, I have loving parents and siblings who are always there for me. But I also had bad people around me, who made me feel insecure about who I was, or what I could give of myself. I grew up feeling that I was not appreciated, that I was not understood. I grew up with a lot of things inside that I couldn't say out of fear. But I could write them, no one could steal my words; you never tell a writer what to write, you just let their words come to you. And I wanted that, I wanted my words to reach those people who had hurt me so much. I stopped writing a few years ago, I still have things to say, but I'm not so interested in those people listening to me anymore. I stopped writing because I stopped feeling sad. How did I get to Hive? My older sister @albanyescribe knew hive and shares a lot around here. She watched me grow up, maybe she could see how much I wanted to express myself. She brought me here for it, and I thank her for it. She is an amazing woman who I admire so much. She's a good mom, one of those now. Every day she tries to teach me in her own way that you don't have to hold on to bad pasts. That the important thing is to focus on a good future. I still haven't decided what I will write here, maybe I will look for inspiration in my old notebooks or I will be inspired in some new way, but I know that I will keep trying to leave the best of me in my words. I hope you will continue to read me from now on and share much more with all those who make life inside hive.
