Hey dear community, at the beginning of my contribution I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you had a great start to the new week! In this post I would like to share something about an experience I made on one of my last trips and am happy if you like my blog.

While I was travelling in Europe, I decided to spend a day at Lake Constance and visited the well-known island in Lindau, which is not only extremely interesting from a historical point of view, but also an important place for tourism in the country. At Lake Constance there is a lot to offer and some come there to pursue sports activities and in any case there is a lot to offer for cyclists, hikers or sailors, but also people who want to take a quiet holiday will probably reach their limits in this breathtaking landscape. If you drive through the area, you will see that there are extremely many vineyards here, which grow particularly well because of the good climate and in addition to the cultivation of wine, it can also be lucrative for the cultivation of other crops, which is of course also a major economic factor of this area. There are very good public connections in the area and it was the first time that I took a train ride which really goes exactly along the lake and leads through a breathtaking landscape and excursions with the steamer are particularly popular, which I did not manage for reasons of time. Those who are interested in history will definitely also get their time worth here and from Roman history to the economic power of the area, a lot is anchored here and one unique thing about the area is probably that it has been so powerful in the past that it could make itself independent in some areas.

The island on which the old town is located is probably the absolute highlight of Lindau and via bridges it can be easily reached by public transport and especially here well-preserved old buildings can be found. I especially liked the lighthouse which can even be visited and the fee for admission is definitely fair with 5€ and inside you can see some information boards that go into more detail on the history and the highlight is the view that people have from the top. Other peculiarities are in any case the narrow alleys or the old town town and in addition there is also one or the other small sight to explore which is relatively hidden like an old historical collection of writings which is even freely accessible. Another special thing is in any case the proximity to other countries and Lindau is on the border to Switzerland as well as Austria and certainly weeks can be spent here because the whole area has so much to offer and besides a diverse culture there are so many natural places or retreats which not without reason enjoy huge popularity.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens and iPhone 16.
