Hey dear community, at the beginning I would like to welcome you to my contribution and hope you have a week so far which will bring a lot of variety into your life! Today I would like to expand my travel blog and share a new experience and I am happy if you appreciate my contribution.

During my time in the Swiss city of Basel, I made some interesting experiences and was able to admire various aspects of the culture and as I already mentioned in one of my last contributions, Basel is a special mixture of old as well as modern architecture. An example of this modern construction is in any case the location of the well-known pharmaceutical company Hoffmann-La Roche which has the most important location here and in general Basel has also became known for the alchemy in the past which is an important cornerstone of modern pharmacy. It's probably one of the most striking buildings in the city and one of the tallest in Switzerland and with a height of over 200 metres, the second tower has a considerable height that immediately catches the eye during the day and in the evening the buildings are illuminated and beautify the city in any case.

First of all, it's important to know that there are a total of two buildings which have between 40 and 50 floors and are mainly intended as an important location for offices or meetings and during the construction, particular emphasis was placed on creating buildings that stand out due to modern construction and secondly were also sustainably built. It was important for Roche to also built buildings that look simple and fit the industry in any case and when it comes to sustainability, particular attention was paid to integrating modern energy systems that in any case can protect the environment or drastically reduce CO2 emissions. Herzog & de Meuron is known as an architect, who is a star in this area and has already designed other magnificent buildings in other countries such as China, such as the Olympic Stadium in Beijing.

From a strategic point of view, it's important for the company to create jobs and in total more than 5000 employees work in both towers, which in any case justifies the costs of the investments in the long term. Roche invests a lot of money in this location and the construction of the first tower alone amounts to over 500 million CHF and the investments of both towers amount to over a billion CHF and as I was able to find out, an extension is already planned and tower three should be created soon and become even more magnificent and larger than the others. I also visited the area in the evening and took a closer look at buildings and then you really realise how magnificent these buildings are and I was actually pretty much alone there that evening and was able to make myself comfortable directly in front of the buildings to get to know it better, but in any case there is much more going on during the day. Finally I would like to come to an important part, whether or how it's possible to visit it and the answer is in any case yes. Every Saturday there are guided tours which, as I have noticed are completely free, but it's important to inform yourself in more detail before because I can't say anything about the exact procedure myself because I unfortunately didn't make it in time and only found out later about this possibility.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens and iPhone 16.
