Charlie Tidwell achieved her dream by wearing the Godskin and becoming a monster. The Bruce Banner inside the Hulk fears for what she may be up against now, having been living the monster nightmare for quite awhile. Devotees of Lycana were all hoping they would be the ones to wear the skin. Within the deepest part of the cave below Las Vegas, resides Varcolac, "ancient father of the Wolf Lords." Not only is he needed to return the Godskin but seek out vengeance on the intruders.
Meanwhile Tidwell is enjoying her new state by smashing things in the forest with the Hulk. Werewolf By Night (Jack Russell) smells a Skinwalker and finds Tidwell by herself in the woods and is surprised to find out that she is in possession of the Godskin. Hulk, however, is about to be preoccupied as Varcolac finds him and is very thirsty for blood!
This action takes place in "The Incredible Hulk" #20 with Phillip Kennedy Johnson continuing this Hulk arc in part one of the "Wolves Of The Old World" storyline. Sometimes, the action scenes were hard to figure out in some of the past issues, but Danny Earls and Matthew Wilson creatively tightened up their combined artwork in this issue. The wolves are very demonizing and crisp. The expressions on the characters' faces are off-the-charts! The issue was akin to one of those television series that end in a place where you wish you were bingeing because you can't leave the show where they left it!
