I think I have finally decided that I am not a cold weather person. This morning the temperature read in my car as 27°. Now add some wind to that and you are in the teens. New Jersey over the last few years have had mild winters, at least in my section of South Jersey. This year, after starting out mild, the cold hit us all at once. We even had some unexpected snowfall.

Always looking for new restaurants to try, I decided that I needed to look into Manahawkin, New Jersey, more. 39° North, located on 32 East Bay Avenue, appeared to be an ordinary diner but once inside, I realized it was so much more. There were many choices on the menu that looked good, but because I was dying foe some good chicken skin, I went with the Half Rotisserie Chicken. Yes, I love skin, turkey or chicken. Some people still believe this is bad for you, but I have heard conflicting reports. And I learned from past experiences that the first thing you read is not always the right thing.

I was leaving my Iron Infusion appointment at Southern Ocean Medical as I have done the past five Fridays. What made this day different was that I had a later appointment, so it was beginning to get dark as I was heading to my car. After getting unhooked from the IV, I hit the button for the first automatic door and then proceeded to hit the button on the second one bringing me close to exiting the building. As I approached the exit to the parking lot, I was stopped by the vision of the leafless trees with the Christmas lights on their trunks and branches. There was still some evidence of snow on the grassy and dirt areas. I don't know what happened but I had to stop and bask in its beauty. Of course, I also took a picture. It made me for that brief moment forget about the craziness of the past week, while definitely putting a smile on my face. It made me realize that instead of just rushing from one place to another, we all need to take a moment to breathe and realize the beauty that is all around us!

Over 6 months ago, Marvel Comics published "Roxxon Presents: Thor!" #1. With Al Ewing (writer), Greg Land (penciler), Jay Leisten (inker) and Frank D'Armata (colorist) as some of those enlisted to bring Thor together with Marvel's fictional energy company, the God of Thunder enters the corporate world as Chad Hammer. The joke appears to be that our hero has taken a job in the tech field that he loves with a company known for their underhandedness.

In 2023, Marvel Comics reprinted a Warlock story from 1975 in Strange Tales featuring Warlock #178. With the ads and Stan Lee's Soapbox in place, the issue reminded me of the ones that I used to buy as a kid. The story even began with Sphinxor being asked by Mr. Lee to give a quick origin story to Warlock. Jim Starlin shows off his versatility by handling the writing, artwork and colors in this book. Actually born in a lab, Warlock's parents created him to take over Earth for them. However, just like any Frankenstein or Rocky Horror story, the creation began to think for himself and not wanting to do their bidding destroyed the lab along with his parents.

I just finished reading "The Dragon's Prophecy" by Jonathan Cahn and it gave me a whole new perspective on the last book of the Bible. "Revelation" has always been my favorite book in the Bible and probably the most misunderstood. There are even different trains of thought as to how to interpret this message that John received. As a matter of fact, I loved "Revelation" so much that I presented two seminars at a Christian retreat at America's Keswick on the subject.
