Red Hulk Admired By Doctor Doom

It is no coincidence that "Red Hulk" #1 hit the racks of the comic book stores recently. General Thunderbolt Ross and his red alter-ego hit the big screen in a big way in "Captain America: Brave New World" this year as well. Geoff Shaw and Marte Gracia presents us with cover artwork that displays the rage and the pain felt by the general who still enjoys getting his hands dirty. Handling the story, Benjamin Percy jumps right into the action that takes place on a plane flying over the Yellow Sea. No origin story is needed. The artwork inside the issue by Geoff Shaw and Bryan Valenza display a crispness and attention to detail that is as good as that I have ever seen.
General Ross is seen thinking to himself as he is looking into a mirror in the plane's restroom. He is basically justifying the loss of life that happens during his missions. As the Red Hulk, his plans include bringing this plane down as if it was shot down by territorial enemies. In a sense, he is starting a war!
General Ross is actually a prisoner of Doctor Doom, who admires the soldier that is still inside the general. However, he is not the only one being held against their will. Communicating through Morse Code, Ross discovers that at the very least Deathlok, General Simon Ryker, Hugo Perez, Professor Li Wan Tang and Machine Man are also being held as prisoners by Doom. Each one has a certain set of skills that could help Doom achieve his goal of a Global War. The only question that remains is can each of these prisoners combine their skills to orchestrate an escape?
