No home brew this week so it’s back to one of my good old standbys Otter Ale a 4.5 %ABV a full flavoured premium ale from Otter Brewery in Luppitt near Exeter in Devon so I’d class it as a local beer as it’s only about 30 miles away from where I live.

To be honest it’s a beer I’ve been drinking for years and one of my favourites and my Dads. It used to be on draft at one of our local Sunday lunch pub and was perfect pint with a roast Sunday lunch, my Dad still moans that it’s not available any longer and it’s been years since they changed suppliers.

Bottled it’s still a very nice beer so I get him a few Bottles now and again. It’s a nice dark beer with a malty slightly spicy nose, the taste is old school bitter with a nice dry finish and holds a head nicely.

In addition to the draft and bottles the also do a 5 litre mini keg which great for parties or Barbecues which is handy for the summer.
So there you have it Hivers a nice old school tasty bitter for beer Saturday.
