Posada La Elenas. But this time the trip was different. Very different. And that’s why I wanted to tell you about it with love and detail… I want to start by saying that, this time I didn’t go with my
parents. I embarked on the adventure alone! Well… not so alone hehe! I went with my boyfriend

He accompanies me and supports me in every way possible, especially when I travel because I have a disability and he helps me carry weight. He's my faithful companion for the best and the best. 💖 This time we said: "Let's do this differently." Whenever we went, we rode in a private car with my parents, all comfortable. But this time we took the bus, the first time I'd ever done it. I'll tell you something, I'll be honest, I really thought I was going to get horribly dizzy (as I usually do), but surprisingly, nothing happened to me. I didn't even throw up or feel sick! Pure blessing. 🙌

Posada La Elenas. Pero esta vez el viaje fue distinto. Muy distinto. Y por eso quise contárselos con cariño y detalle... Quiero comenzar diciendo que, esta vez no fui con mis ¨
papás. ¡Me lancé la aventura sola! Bueno… no tan sola hehe! Fui con mi novio

Y no es mentira, porque, ese hombre no me deja sola ni un ratico apenas puede me acompaña y me apoya en todo lo que pueda y más cuando hago viajes porque tengo la discapacidad y él me ayuda cargando peso. Es mi compañero fiel pa’ lo bueno y lo mejor. 💖 Esta vez dijimos: “Vamos a hacer esto diferente”. Siempre que íbamos, subíamos en carro particular con mis papás, todo cómodo. Pero esta vez nos lanzamos en autobús, primera vez que lo hacía. Les digo algo, les soy sincera, de pana pensé que me iba a marear horrible (como suele pasarme), pero sorprendentemente no me pasó nada. ¡Ni vomité ni me puse mal! Pura bendición. 🙌
Choroní is relatively close to where I live, about 4 hours away, but you have to go over a large mountain in Henry Pittier Park. It's a jungle-coastal area, full of curves, fog, and greenery, lots of greenery. 💚 That's why I wanted to document the road even though it was very foggy...

Choroní queda relativamente cerca de donde vivo, como a unas 4 horitas, pero eso sí, hay que pasar una montaña bien grande del parque Henry Pittier. Es una zona selvática-costera, llena de curvas, neblina y verde, mucho verde. 💚 Por eso, quise documentar la carretera aunque había demasiada neblina...
I know this road well, thanks to my family's stories and my own research, because it's always seemed like a magical and challenging route to me. From Maracay to Choroní, there are approximately 55 kilometers of pure mountainous terrain, crossing the Henri Pittier National Park, as I just mentioned, along a narrow, winding road that climbs through thick fog, towering trees, and streams that cross the road.

Conozco bien esta carretera gracias a los relatos de mi familia y también por lo que he investigado por cuenta propia, porque siempre me ha parecido una ruta mágica y desafiante. Desde Maracay hasta Choroní hay unos 55 kilómetros aprox. de pura montaña, cruzando el Parque Nacional Henri Pittier como ya acabo de comentar por una vía estrecha y serpenteante que sube entre neblina espesa, árboles altísimos y riachuelos que cruzan la carretera.
It's a journey that takes about two to three hours, depending on the weather and traffic, and requires you to be on your toes. From the bus, I was able to take a few quick photos as the driver braked. I even took a few shots with my moving phone, so you could get a sense of what that cloudy landscape looks like, straight out of a storybook. One of the most special photos I took was of a river just before reaching the town. I promise to take more detailed photos someday when I come back!

Es un trayecto que toma unas dos a tres horas, dependiendo del clima y del tráfico, y que te obliga a ir con todos los sentidos despiertos. Desde el autobús pude tomar algunas fotos rapiditas cuando el chofer frenaba. Hasta hice unas tomas con el teléfono en movimiento, pa’ que se llevaran la idea de cómo es ese paisaje nublado que parece sacado de un cuento. Una de las fotos más especiales que logré fue la de un río que está justo antes de llegar al pueblo. Les prometo algún día que vuelva a subir tomar fotos con más detalle!
And while I was there, I captured one of my boyfriend walking with his bag, just getting off the bus, right in front of the terminal. Quite an unintentional model! Hahaha.

Y ya estando allá, capturé una donde mi novio va caminando con su bolso apenas bajándose del autobús, justo enfrente del terminal. ¡Todo un modelo sin quererlo! Jajaja.
From there, we walked to a cousin's house, who welcomed us with open arms. Later, I'll show you photos of the town itself: the architecture, the people, that enchanting color. But these first images are more intimate, more about the road, the mountains, and the energy of the path. 🏔️ I've added thoughts and phrases that came to me while I saw so much beauty before me. Because truly, observing that mist embracing the trees, those curves full of mystery, was like reconnecting with nature and with myself.

Desde ahí caminamos hasta la casa de un primo mío que nos recibió con los brazos abiertos. Más adelante les mostraré fotos del pueblo como tal, la arquitectura, la gente, ese colorido que enamora. Pero estas primeras imágenes son más íntimas, más sobre la carretera, la montaña y la energía del camino. 🏔️ Les coloqué pensamientos y frases que me surgieron mientras veía tanta belleza frente a mí. Porque de verdad, observar esa neblina abrazando los árboles, esas curvas llenas de misterio, fue como reconectar con la naturaleza y conmigo misma.
