After getting a new scanner several years ago to scan some old slides my grandparents had, I picked up several batches of slides from Goodwill and on eBay. I'm not sure why these commonly wind up at places like that but many seem to ultimately have come from estate sales. Maybe family members just don't know what to do with them or don't care. I've seen them listed as being for arts and crafts so I assume they are commonly used for that purpose. I was more interested in the actual contents. Each slide is a little slice of history from a particular time and place. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. There are thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here mainly because I find them an interesting way to look back at the past.

The HP Pavilion M7570N is a somewhat interesting machine. It was designed to be a multimedia hub and it certainly provided a lot of multimedia related functionality. It includes a DVD-ROM drive as well as a separate CD/DVD writer, a card reader that accepts a variety of media card formats, a TV tuner card, analog video capture capabilities, and of course firewire in addition to USB ports.

This song was originally written and performed by a band called Silly Wizard but this was the first version I ever heard.Emerald Rose was a Celtic folk/rock band that played both original and traditional Celtic themed music as well as original sci-fi and fantasy inspired music. They were formed in 1995 and disbanded in 2018. As far as I know, you'll have to search eBay or other places for used physical media as I don't think it is still available new anywhere.
