For Pizza And Democracy

"Are you here for pizza and democracy?" Yesterday evening, folks filled Locals Food Hub & Pizza Pub in the Smoketown neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky for the 'Meet Up For Democracy' event.

Organized by Sharp Objects 502, 50501, and Indivisible, the shindig was an occasion for folks to enjoy some tasty food and connect with one another while making protest signs and writing postcards.

The postcards were destined for voters in swing states, to counter misinformation and explain how the regime's agenda is going to negatively affect them.

To the organizers' amazement, the three hundred postcards were filled out in under twenty minutes.

There were also whistles to be had, as well as information on how people could get more involved.

In a time were we're under constant attack from weapons of mass distraction, just coming together and being in community becomes an act of resistance.

Public protest, like the bridge protests hanging banners over the highway that Sharp Objects 502 has been organizing, are an important aspect of fighting for change, last night was for connecting folks with the other aspects of the struggle.

This was the fourth and largest meetup for pizza and democracy, but likely not the last. One organizer announced that the local ICE watch training had reached it's capacity of 150 within a day of signups being posted and that more were being organized, seems this is only going to grow from here.
