For the past little bit, I've been trying to organize a photography club here in Louisville. Have discovered that my familiarity with both organizing and photo clubs is rather lacking, which has made things interesting.What do you even do in a photography club anyways? Figured getting photogs together couldn't end badly but haven't really gotten to put that to the test yet. Got together for the first time a couple weeks ago and the three of us decided we'd meet up and play with cameras in Central Park today.

Oh yeah, Louisville. Nice place, drinking town with a sports problem. Even has a Bourbon Trail. Heard through the grapevine that if the CIA ever gets around to declassifying it, we're getting a Cocaine Trail next.

Wednesday made five years since this city rose up. While the rest of the country thinks of those days as the George Floyd protests, here in Louisville it was Breonna Taylor who was foremost on our minds. We said his name too, but we were focused on justice for one of the city's own.

This past weekend I got to do something that wasn't even on my bucket list. Was offered the opportunity to shoot the second edition of a music festival called Roots Revue for the local weekly alternative newspaper. Didn't even take the time to think twice or check the lineup before I said yes.

Who watches the watchmen? According to the Department of 'Justice' the answer to that is nobody. Yesterday, they announced that they were rescinding the consent decrees with Louisville and a host of other cities where the police had been found to engage in a systematic pattern and practice of abuse and rights violations.

Remember the good ol' days, when all we had to worry about was the hipsters with their beards and PBRs ruining everything? Skyline Chili remembers. . . Anybody else call empty beer cans 'dead soldiers,' or is that a purely American thing?
