Oh well, that's exactly what I needed 🙄🙄🙄😭😭😭😷😷😷🤢🤢🤢🤕🤕🤕
After yesterday's post
☠️☠️☠️Mommy's Mental Health-Chapter 72 - Death Becomes Her - Part 1 ☠️☠️☠️ I finally gave up and went to the pharmacy to purchase EVERYTHING. Thank God I did. Matthew is still ill as well, so I am keeping him out of school today.
I actually got double this, but have distributed it between the downstairs and upstairs cupboards to avoid kids thinking there is just magical medicine that doesn't cost anything. After coming home, I treated Matthew to a fruit plate - which I'm normally quite stingy with, but I thought we both needed a good nutritious lunch to help boost our immune systems.
Last night was absolute hell though. My throat was so sore that even spraying the topical anesthetic hurt like hell and honestly didn't help much at that point. The lozenges went from annoying to necessary, depending on how I was feeling.
I have also put myself and Matthew on a course of broad-spectrum antibiotics to try and murder this thing. My chest filled up with so much fluid that I was finding it difficult to breathe. The wheezing noise - akin to a boiling kettle - prevented me from resting. The last thing I wanted to do was cough, but it became more and more necessary as the night went on.
I think the 1st presentation of fluid on the lungs was more foam-like and difficult to "cough out." By midnight though, it had turned into fluid, and slowly but surely, I was able to relieve the pressure on my chest and expel the mucus that was drowning my lungs.
Then there's the added "fun" side of trying to treat my tummy. I eventually folded, after trying every natural route possible, and went for what the pharmacist recommended would be a mid-range, easy-to-predict laxative, with results in 12 hours.
I started off by taking 3 in one go as directed and waited patiently for something to happen at all. Of course, as luck would have it, my tummy started working. I ended up getting up and going to the loo no less than 30 times though as constipation turned into diarrhea. I think I got about two hours of sleep collectively.
Besides the negative experience though, I realize it was a necessary one as this morning, I can definitely feel the difference. It had to come out one way or another. It was poisoning me from the inside out.
With all of that going on with my tummy, it's no wonder that I was an easy target for this respiratory tract infection which has been hell to treat.
Luckily, this morning, I started feeling better, although this could be the painkillers talking. I am so grateful for my home-based pharmacy ad that I could restock it with flu meds (since no one has had flu since last year) and I went to Atlantic Medical Supplies to get more dressings for
@zakludick. His wound is looking great, by the way.
Zak was pumped full of so many antibiotics that they took him off the oral antibiotics, of which he was on two separate courses, which meant there was a whole course left. The concentration was extremely strong though, so I've adjusted the doses and divided up the tablets between myself and Matthew.
Let's hope for a speedy recovery for both of us and that I don't have another night like last night!
