I do not know the sweet and gentle face of love,
Nor the daily longing of its soft step.
No memories, no deep emotions.
The love of others, a mystery to me,
A curiosity that brings only misery.
Fear and pain, the unknown shore of love,
A longing to learn, but no more.
One day, perhaps, I will find my way,
And taste the sweetness of love's sweet day.
But until then, I'll ponder and wander,
Between the choices: love or nothing at home.
To have loved and lost, or never to have known,
The bittersweet choice, forever alone.
