The next morning, Miro and Flint arrived at the cult underground city. On arrival, a dozen cult members met them. Without saying a word, they led Miro and Flint into the underground city. Miro instructed his guards to wait in the tunnel.

In ancient Sapey, Tiberius’ enforcers had just destroyed Carrington and Cellrebrum districts. Amidst the chaos, an attempt was made on Tiberius’ life. The Alset mansion, the building Tiberius was in, was destroyed by an attack from his own enforcers. Tiberius luckily escaped death by falling into an underground tunnel. Unfortunately, the tunnel caved in on top of him. He was assumed dead as no trace of him was found. However, Tiberius was actually trapped underground. At this point, he knew he could no longer return safely to the surface and that the Alset survivors who were also underground would want him dead.

Lily finished her course at the House of Divine Knowledge. As promised, Merida supported Lily’s candidacy in the General Election. Lily won a seat as a representative. This also meant that Lily was finally free to return to the Capital Region to attend parliament.

Remy and Ronda continued to homeschool Milly and Lily for another three years. Both girls learnt incredibly quickly. They were confident that Milly would be able to join a school and fit in well. Lily was only five and only just had the implant put into her foot. She was able to shapeshift but not to the same level as Milly, who was as skilful as any Linap of her age.

It was around forty years before the collapse of Sapey. The Business Sector had become incredibly rich and powerful. Eleven of the twelve governors were affiliated to the Business Sector. The income of the average Sapien was also significantly improving, but this was mostly because of the longer sustained working hours. Sapiens were lured by the lifestyle offered by acquiring new ‘privileges’. To maintain this lifestyle, they needed to keep working. Expiry dates on tokens had been reduced, and ‘rights’ were not increasing to keep pace with rising standards of living.

Most of the recruits spent the next three days relaxing and eating many sweet treats. Eugene spent the entire time in his room, studying all the material he had. He wanted to be as prepared as possible for the final task.
