It's not too long since my students and I have been working on cultivating our garden. It was never hard because of the teamwork and enthusiasm of my students in preparing and growing our garden. Instead, it blossomed into a fun and fulfilling experience as I watched almost every day the seeds grow.
Every day was a fresh start. Right before we start our class, my students water the plants daily and cultivate the soil gently around them for the roots to stretch and grow fast. And after class, they do the same. As I mentioned last time, I grouped my students and assigned them specific veggies to plant in the designated spots. Everything went smoothly and in an instant, our garden was bursting with life!
Every morning, I check the veggies for their growth and condition one by one, and this makes me excited every time! Well, who would not be excited to see these greens and their flowers blooming like tiny promises of abundance to come?
My Veggies!
So here's the latest update of my grown veggies who have grown beautifully and and are now bearing fruits! Yeaaayy!!!
First, on the list, my most fruit-bearing veggie is the okra.
One thing I've noticed about Okras is that they thrive well in dry climates. Though it is scorching hot now and our school has water shortages sometimes, our Okras stood still, grown, and have bear fruit healthily. In fact, our class was able to cook "utan" already our favorite soup, and I even got to bring home some of the fresh harvest!.
Our other fruit-bearing vegetable is the bell pepper,Or wait is this really a bell pepper? π I have observed that planting this veggie is a good choice for our garden as it easily survives and bears fruit just a month after planting.
Seeing these fruits gave my heart butterflies as this means that our efforts have bear fruits too especially looking at our eggplant and our beans! Oh my, I know we will be having an abundant harvest very soon! Hope it fills our basket! hehe
And to complete the vibrant life and how evergreen our garden is, our leafy vegetables such as the Kamote, Kangkong in two varieties, Spring Onions and our Alugbati are growing lush-fully embracing every corner of our garden like a green carpet.
Not only am I hands-on and passionately tending our garden but also my students and this little girl every time she visits me at school. It makes my heart smile looking at my daughter also loves gardening or is it playing the soil she loves? haha!
Anyways, I'd say, I found happiness in my garden seeing how our vegetables grow healthily. It's like nurturing little green dreams and seeing them come to life, reminding me that patience and care (and yes teamwork) always bear the sweetest reward.
Till my next update lovely gardeners!π Mwaaahh!π
