Respect the Hustle

Hustle culture is alive and well in the world these days. Perhaps it has always been there, it is just a bit more pervasive these days with the ranks of influencers we see peddling this or item or that item. Farm markets have become all the rage and natural and organic have become the buzzwords. Don't get me wrong, that's not a bad thing.
With the recent increase in the price of eggs I can't tell you how many people I have seen on Facebook buying their own chickens or who already had chickens and they are selling their stuff. I'm in a Facebook group for the community where I live and I swear just about once a week someone is looking for locally sourced honey.
Which again is a good thing, there are lots of benefits allergy-wise to buying honey that was made by bees close to where you live. @mrsbozz and I work with a lady who has started her own business. She named it after her daughter and she sells eggs, honey, maple syrup, soap, tallow hand cream and various other things. All made by herself on her and her husbands small patch of land in Michigan.
I picked up this bottle of maple syrup from her the other day for the sum of $12. Paid by Venmo of course. It's a 12 oz bottle, and that's actually not a bad price for pure maple syrup. Sure, it might be a little more than I would pay if I went to Costco, but I don't mind supporting local and paying a little more for quality. @tarazkp just wrote a really good post about that the other day...
finance
It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.

For me, HIVE is probably my biggest hustle. Sure, I do some side IT work on occasion, but it really doesn't bring me the joy that HIVE does. It's actually kind of a burden because I don't like my time not being my own. I can't tell you the number of times that I am at my real job, looking forward to just going home and relaxing, then I get a call that I have to go to a side clients to do some work.
It seems the older I get the more it annoys me. Not so much with HIVE.
Like many, HIVE isn't just a way to hopefully make money one day, it's also a nice outlet for me. @mrsbozz has taken up journaling again with a pen and paper each night. My journal is HIVE. Here for everyone in the world to read if they happen to stumble upon our tiny blockchain.
Things seem to be continuing pretty sideways as far as crypto is concerned. The BTC maxis are probably getting their kicks out of how bad alts are getting hammered. It's rough for sure.

Travala

I wrote a while ago about Travala doing their quarterly rewards for people who stake their AVA on the platform and complete some tasks. This quarter I was able to complete all ten of the tasks and I am looking forward to see how much AVA I can earn this cycle. It's not too hard to throw out a couple of Tweets and earn some extra crypto that I can hopefully one day use towards a nice trip somewhere.

Splinterlands

There has been a lot of hype lately about Conclave Arcana. I have been involved with Splinterlands since before it was launched. I remember signing up for a KickStarter account just so I could get in on the early access. Unfortunately, I think this might be the first pack set that I pass on. I didn't put too much into Rebellion or whatever it was called and the way this early bull has been going, I don't have the funds I would like to buy a bunch of packs. Plus, I am still sitting on about 100 Chaos Legion packs that are virtually worthless now.
It's kind of disappointing. Best of luck to those who pick up some packs. I hope you pull some high foil cards.

Silver and Gold

I have heard the price of Gold is on a tear right now. It seems Silver has went up a bit as well. I had seen someone post that silver was down to something like $27 spot price. It seems that may have been an error because I went to buy some more the other day and it was up around $31 or $32. I even had permission from my wife to "buy a bunch while it is low", but I ended up holding off. Under $30 felt like a great place to buy. Over $30 felt like just a bit too much. I am thinking about creating some kind of alert on Google using Gemini or something that lets me know if the price falls below a specific price.
Is anyone in the #silvergoldstackers community doing something like that?
We are halfway through April. It's kind of hard to believe. That's all I have for you today, but I hope you have an awesome Easter weekend and I hope things turn a bit better for us in the end of April and May.
