I got a new job as a secretary and I was so glad because I've searched for a long time. It's been 2 years and aside from my salary we do get weekly tips but I noticed I'm not always given because I refused to dance to the boss's tune.
In the society I grew up in, as a lady, you aren't expected to love football; they see you as not being serious about being a football lover as a woman. Well, I kicked against that because I never gave in to their taunts. I grew up with a father who loves football, and since my childhood, he has been supporting one club, and that is Chelsea F.C. (the Blues). This made me love the club because my favorite color is blue, so I can say I am a Chelsea fan by birth馃榾.
In Nigeria, I can confidently tell you that we are talented when it comes to music. We are blessed with talents in all genres of music, from hip-hop, juju, gospel, apala, and afro pop. From past generations until the present, music has been food for the soul. Our forefathers enjoyed music so much either at their houses, parties, or even in the bar or canteen where they went for refreshment, and they have good testimonies about the good music has done for them.
My boss is a strict man who doesn't take no for an answer. Everyone in the office is always afraid of him because he is strong. Recently, after I completed the task I was given, he commended my effort and said I have a royal fortune.
There are things I never imagined myself doing because of my nature. Growing up, I was an introvert, and I don't like dealing with crowds to the extent that I don't like visitors. I always found it difficult to mingle with people, and this continued until I came of age. This became a source of concern for my parents because whenever there is an outing, I always prefer to stay back at home. You might be wondering how I cope in school.
A good environment is a precious gift of nature, and it is meant to be kept clean at all times. But it's so saddening that people disrespect nature's gift so much, not knowing it's affecting their ways of life indirectly. I live in Amoyo, a developing town in Kwara State. Due to the growing population in the town, people don't want to relocate to the area because it's somehow on the outskirts of Ilorin. My environment is peaceful and serene, but people have a bad attitude towards keeping the environment clean.
