I've made a simple page which quickly shows the significant accounts paying for 'trending' posts, and those flagging them (if anyone has enough undelegated SP to do that these days!). Any accounts contributing or deducting more than $5 from a post has its avatar shown, and you can hover over it to see the account name. Obviously most are bidbots.

In my last post, I mentioned that I had developed a content ranking algorithm that was related to Google PageRank, and hoped that this would provide a better alternative trending page. It turned out with further testing that a simpler approach yielded improved results, so here it is the better presented page.

When Google started to dominate the search engine scene in the late 90s, one contributing factor was their new PageRank algorithm. There are many explanations of how this works, including on here and here on Steemit and on wikipedia, so I won't go through it again here.
