Youtube

As some of you who've been reading/listening to my posts lately, I've started a new youtube account where I'll be focusing on its growth for the foreseeable future. This is done for a few reasons -

  1. Potentially earn viewers that don't know about Hive
  2. Post about my projects on Hive in another format for those who don't like to read as much
  3. Maybe earn an income from there?

Alright, I know #3 is far-fetched but anything to save me some extra hive here and there as I'm pretty much full-time Hive. I wanna get into these points a bit more in detail here next.

  1. Lately I've also been branching into some random communities that don't know about Hive, discussions around that have not taken place much - I do drop hints towards it here and there but it's not the right time yet. For instance recently I've been doing some "research" on physical TCG's, mostly pokemon, one piece and dragon ball z. I've also been purchasing some cards of the first mentioned to be more "hands on" (they're also quite nice and fun however and a little addicting, but hey after having purchased over 800 alpha vials I think it's okay to buy a few packs here and there of something else :P). Either way, since packs here at my location aren't that easy to find and there's kind of a mania worldwide right now where everyone's emptying the shelves of all kinds of cards - I've been buying some packs from "Rip & Shippers", this is basically streamers who have better connections to packs and they open your packs live for you as content and then ship them your way. I've been kind of getting into this community and thought it'd be a nice "investment" to spend some time there because A. It's not a big community but compared to hive standards it's quite decently sized, maybe I can eventually bring up Hive communities to them and see if they'd be interested in posting there rather than just discord. And B. If I have a decent connection with the streamer I can maybe ask them in the future if they'd be willing to open up some Holozing packs on stream for marketing.
I'm probably going to post a wide variety of content on youtube, from discussing and going over hive things to random reaction/reviews of stuff and tcg's and gaming anywhere from web3 to web2. I'm thinking I'll be titling these as follows so people interested in certain videos can easily tell from the title and thumbnail if I uploaded something they're interested in - then also add them to playlists as I currently have done with certain videos:

Over time I'm hoping that the wide variety of content may cross over some outside viewers to also look into some of my other videos that are hive/holozing related to give them that connection they may have needed to try their first step into our world/ecosystem. Similar to the reason why I started being active on Twitter, it's mostly being done in hopes to shine more light towards Hive so I hope my active followers here will support me in this venture.

  2. A lot of people aren't big fans of reading, and although I may speak slower than I type at times I do have plans to make the videos stand out more with some additional editing (I've even found an editor who's going to help out here on Hive). I figured maybe this will help some users who haven't really been reading my content and may have missed out on some of my projects that may make their daily hive life better!

  3. Okay so this is quite out there but I'm off to a decent start, according to youtube I need 500 subscribers and
3000 watch hours within a year to start monetizing my content - this requirement allows me to accept "memberships", i.e. viewers paying a subscription to youtube to get some additional perks or being able to leave "super chats" in my streams or leave some kind of animated messages on the video comment section I assume. Youtube takes a 30% fee.
To be able to monetize my videos with ad-revenue the requirements are slightly higher - 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of my content watched within a year. For shorts this is 10 million views and 3 million for memberships - so a bit harder to reach but I do plan on creating shorts as well to help me gain followers.

Plans for the future:

  • Streaming - I wanna get back into some streaming here soon, I might dual-stream both youtube and twitch for a bigger potential reach while using some software like streamlabs to connect the chats. I'll be streaming some gameplay that's a bit more laid back and chill where I can interact with the chat more along with maybe doing some curation streams where I let viewers recommend me some posts to check out for curation!

  • Contests - I'm thinking of also hosting some contests with various giveaways such as hive, zing and maybe other "shittokens" :P these may come in different forms, some maybe hidden somewhere in the videos for those paying attention and watching my long rants all the way through while others more random in streams or random sections of videos that may require some interaction in some way to "appease the algo".

If you have some additional cool or better ideas, do let me know in the comment section!

Anyway, thought I'd post a quick screenshot of how I've been doing since I started 5 days ago and to thank you for the kickstart and support you've shown so far!
