Dream scripts

Some times I have some really random dreams that don't make a lot of sense as to why they occur. This one was kind of weird cause it's been a while since I've watched the tv show Alien: Earth or any of the movies related to it, but it reminded me of that one the most.

I've noticed I have this thing where if a dream is interesting enough, I try to maintain it and see it through, until I eventually wake up. I know some people say that you can dream many dreams during the night and that they may move way faster than "real time", but to me it kind of feels the opposite, that dreams kind of move slower than real time and I some times find myself going back to sleep only to get "further in the dream" just a little compared to the time that elapsed until I wake up again.

Either way, this one was quite interesting enough that it could've probably made a script of a tv show of some kind, naturally a lot more would need to be written around the plot or maybe changed some things that happened, but figured I'd write about that today as I'm trying to get back to my writing habits.

This was set out in the future at some point, I'm not really aware what the situation back on earth is as the dream starts out with 4-5 astronauts on a spaceship discovering new territories for research. It felt like it was kind of a hail mary situation where a lot of ships have been sent out in a last ditch to save humanity or earth in order to progress science a bit faster.

The dream went from your innocent star trek vibe into alien territory real quick.

This ship and its crew had found a "hidden" black hole that we didn't know about back on earth existed in this position, there were planets near it and it was a big one. Apparently it was full of "research material" for the crew and their equipment so they needed to get closer. After a few days there was proof that the equipment doing the research for them was dishing out things no one knew about. Here I imagine it was AI getting close to real data about black holes and science stuff it couldn't duplicate on earth.

Some of this research somehow lead to the research equipment teaching us how to manipulate dna in order to clone humans, kind of weird I thought while dreaming, why would we need that when we already have such a high population, but it was kind of like this was the precursor to the plot that was about to take shape. Apparently, being this close to the giant black hole was causing the crew to be exposed to high levels of radiation. After some checkups at the med bay they realized many of the crew members only had weeks left to live. They wouldn't be able to make the trip back to earth nor would they be able to get close enough to share the research they've gained since. A conundrum appeared.

After some discussions, the ideas floated that with the new research and some kind of process to speed things up, one of the only possibilities was that we'd clone ourselves in order to survive.

That's where things started to get quite weird, there were only two female astronauts on board and apparently they needed to, ehm, do their natural duties to help the process along by giving birth to embryos that would then be grown further in a lab towards teenage level while at the same time we had to try infuse basic knowledge onto them in their hybrid sleep/growth cycle to try and catch up to our knowledge and understanding of the situation and to be able to drive back to earth. At the same time we also wanted to keep researching the data while risking the new clones being exposed to radiation as well because it was just too important to ignore. Eventually we started doing the cloning process differently where it would generate clones of us at our current age but also a copy of our brains after we had gathered more research. This meant we were able to "renew" ourselves with all memory, knowledge, etc, while there were teenage versions of us on the ship and all of them were watching the first and oldest generation die to radiation poisoning.

Yeah, things got weird, lol.

I kind of woke up after a while and was like wtf was that, but it was so random and unique that it kind of got stuck in my mind so figured maybe I could write about it before someone steals the idea for a script and calls it original.
