Mount Geurute is not only beautiful, but also an important part of the journey of the people of western and southern Aceh to the capital of Aceh province, Banda Aceh. The road that divides this mountain offers spectacular views: a stretch of blue sea on the left side, green cliffs on the right side, and the cool air typical of the mountains that always soothes the heart. There is also a view to see two islands below.
I took this photo while on my way to Banda Aceh. Every time I pass Geurute, it feels like I am given a moment to stop, admire God's creation, and recharge my energy before continuing the journey.
For those of us who often pass this route, Geurute is not just a mountain, it is a silent witness to many stories of travel, longing, and hope brought from the village to the city.
