Pushing deeper into the Communications Department, I secured the area and encountered a hostile Object of Power. Trapped in a deadly barrage of flying debris, I relied on timing, movement, and nerve to reach its core and cleanse it, to restore stability and claim its power.

I pushed deep into the Communications Department, knowing the Hotline was somewhere inside. I channeled my power to cleanse the area, watching the red distortion vanish as the room shifted back into its physical form.

With the area secure, I began navigating the hallways of the department. This was the second major cleansing of the building, and the atmosphere felt slightly more stable, though the hum of the Oldest House still kept me on edge. I moved cautiously, checking every corner for surviving threats.

While moving through a corridor, I witnessed something cool. A man was violently thrown out of a door, followed by a barrage of office supplies. By the time I reached him, he was already knocked out. Looking into the room, I spotted the culprit, an Object of Power.

The moment I stepped into the room, the Object focused its attention on me, hurling heavy objects with lethal speed. I dove behind a desk immediately. My mission updated: I had to cleanse this Object of Power to stabilize the area and gain its ability.

I began a tense game of cat and mouse. I had to get close enough to interact with it, but the invisible force was relentless. I kept switching between covers. It felt like the room itself was trying to crush me.

After a few failed attempts, I spotted a path. It was risky, so I had to sprint directly across its line of sight without any cover for a few seconds. I waited for the right opening and made a run toward the source of the chaos.

As I reached the inner circle of the Object's influence, I stopped for a split second to observe it. For a fleeting moment, the shifting energy seemed to take on a human-like form.

I waited for the Object to enter a brief recharge phase. The moment the barrage stopped, I ran forward and initiated the cleansing process. I felt a surge of energy rush through Jesse as the Object was finally bound. With the energy contained, the room fell silent, and the side mission was completed.
