We flew to Adelaide for my first South Australian parkrun and my second interstate event in early 2019 it was also my eighteen different locatation. We were staying in the middle of town with a few different parkrun to choose from but Caroline wanted to meet some online parkrun friends she had known for a while. We had to catch a local bus out to Geoff Heath Golf, James Street, Campbelltown. We had heard there was a dedicated bus way called the O-Bahn, which started off in town like a normal bus but soon turned off the road onto a train or tram way like track.
We got there nice and early to warm up and have a bit of a look around.
Lochiel has a strong team of volunteers.
The run briefing is at the golf club house.
After the briefing you walk over the O Barn pedestrian bridge to the start / finish line at the big water tank.
Another fast down hill start, you can just make me out about 20 back on the left.
Very thankful for a nice shady path on a warm day.
The course is a 2.5 kilometre out and back along the river side.
barefoot I don't know how @consciouscat does it.
I just could not run that far without shoes but it is good to get them off afterwards.
We scanned in back at the golfing club house. Make sure you return your finisher token.
The golf club house had some good facilities and we were there that long that the after parkrun breakfast and coffee turned into Lunch. We finally left at twenty past one.
Lochiel parkrun was a most memorable weekend away.
