¿Sabías qué? La habana vieja a pesar de estos años de antigüedad, presenta una rica historia en cuanto a creencias religiosas e historia nacional, pues en el paseo de hoy les estaré mostrando mi visita por la Cathedral de la Habana o de San Cristóbal.
Además de la famosa iglesia de Santo Ángel Custodio. ¡Acompáñame en este maravilloso misterio 😉!
Starting the tour by the majestic Cathedral of Havana. I will tell you that it is located in the Plaza de la Habana Vieja, with a Cuban Renaissance-baroque architectural style, built in the eighteenth century.
This symbol of opulence and spirituality was developed in a time of colonial splendor.
Empezando el recorrido por la majestuosidad Cathedral de La Habana. Les comentaré que se ubica en la Plaza de la Habana Vieja, con un estilo arquitectónico renacentista-barroco cubano, construido en el siglo XVIII.
Este símbolo de opulencia y espiritualidad se desarrolló en una época de esplendor colonial.
The Cathedral is the seat of the archdiocese in the Capital, exploring its history as a fundamental spiritual and cultural center of Cuba.
If you look closely at the photos, you will see that its columns are very old and twisted, rococo style windows of beautiful religious beliefs and figures.
La Cathedral es la sede de la arquidiócesis en la Capital, explorando su historia como un centro espiritual y cultural fundamental de Cuba.
Si te fijas bien en las fotos, verás que sus columnas son bien antiguas y torcidas, ventanas al estilo rococo de hermosas creencias y figuras religiosas.
This catholic church, located in the heart of Havana, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The structure is preserved in detail, with its colonial bishop ceilings, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, whose image is on the main altar.
Behind it, in the upper area, there are three valuable fresco paintings by picturesque Christian authors with biblical scenes.
Esta iglesia católica que se encuentra en el corazón de la habana, es nombrado patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO. Se conserva la estructura al detalle, con sus techos obispos coloniales, dedicada a la Inmaculada Concepción, cuya imagen se encuentra en el altar mayor.
Detrás, en la zona más arriba se ubican tres pinturas valiosas al fresco de pintorescos autores cristianos con escenas bíblicas.
To the left of the entrance of the church, there is a precious wooden confessional, typical of these traditional catholic temples, guarded by a protection rope, probably to be preserved as national historical patrimony (where the faithful confessed their sins).
In addition, the following image shows the entrance and exit to the patio or garden, with its antique doors.
A la izquierda de la entrada de la iglesia, se observa un confesionario de madera preciosa, típico de estos templos católicos tradicionales, custodiado por una cuerda de protección, probablemente para ser conservado patrimonio histórico nacional. (Donde los fíeles confesaban sus pecados)
Además la siguiente imagen muestra la entrada y salida al patio o jardín, con sus puertas antiguas.

This other sculpture represents the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus accompanied by angels, with a celestial light, golden hoop and blue sky in the background of her painting.
All these retablos, underneath contain an urn or altar, used for prayers or placement of offerings.

Other altars were those of Nuestra Señora de La Asunción and San Juan Bautista, also very well preserved for believers to make their offerings.

Moving on to the interior of the cathedral, I will tell you that it houses several minor chapels, dedicated to different saints. Some of them contain tombs of important figures such as Bishops or Servants of God from the provinces of the island.
Including supposedly by religious of the center, that even were the remains of Christopher Columbus.
Pasando al interior de la cathedral les diré que alberga, varias capillas menores, dedicadas a diferentes santos. Pues algunas contienen tumbas de figuras importantes como Obispos o Siervos de Dios de provincias en la isla.
Incluyendo supuestamente por religiosos del centro, que hasta estuvieron los restos de Cristóbal Colón.
A sacred icon for those closest to the church is the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, where above his cross shows his INRI, which means "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews".
This art is well detailed, and realistic with his wounds on his hands, knees and feet, a reflection of suffering in the cross. In addition to his sides are the Virgin Mary and St. John the Evangelist.
Un ícono sagrado por los mas allegados a la iglesia es la crucifixión de Jesucristo, donde encima de su cruz muestra su INRI, que significa "Jesús de Nazaret, rey de los Judíos".
Este arte está bien detallado, y realista con sus heridas en las manos, rodillas y pies, un reflejo de sufrimiento en la cuz. Además de a sus lados estar La Virgen Maria y San Juan Evangelista.
Finally, the most famous and patron saint of Cubans: Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, where the sculpture represents the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus, venerated for having protected three fishermen during a storm in eastern Cuba.
It is a beautiful replica, but its main sanctuary is in Santiago de Cuba, in El Cobre.
Por último, la más famosa y patrona de los cubanos: Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, donde en la escultura se representa a la Virgen Maria con el niño Jesús, venerada por haber protegido a tres pescadores durante una tormenta en el Oriente de Cuba.
Es una réplica bien linda, pero su santuario principal está en Santiago de Cuba, en el Cobre.
The altars of San Prudencio and Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, also very well preserved for believers to make their offerings.

The Havana Cathedral will always be a must if you come to Havana. Its history, art, architecture and spirituality make it a quiet and culturally rich place of the time.

La Catedral de la Habana siempre va a ser un recorrido obligatorio, si vienes por la habana. Su historia, arte, arquitectura y espiritualidad lo hacen un lugar tranquilo y de riqueza cultural de la época.
En definitivo, es un templo patrimonial que encapsula la esencia del barroco americano-colonial y profunda religiosidad que ha marcado a Cuba durante varios siglos.
On the way to the next church, I took some pictures of an art studio, all colorful and with some paintings of famous artists of the place. Well, I even saw Mickey Mouse among the graffiti jjj.
Ya camino a la siguiente iglesia, pues tomé algunas fotografías de un estudio de arte, todo bien colorido y con algunas pinturas de famosos artistas del lugar. Bueno hasta Mickey Mouse lo vi entre los graffitis jjj.
Arriving at the Catholic structure, enjoy a morning breakfast at the outdoor Café ☕️ "Del Angel", very quiet with its tables and first class tourist service.
As you can see, these are classic buildings, which the inhabitants of the city use to undertake stable business for religious visitors.
Llegando a la estructura católica, disfrute de un desayuno mañanero en el Café ☕️ "Del Angel" al aire libre, bien tranquilo con sus mesas y atención al turista de primera calidad.

The Church of the Holy Guardian Angel maintains its splendor and beauty despite the years, with its neo-Gothic style. It is famous not only for its religious value but also because it was baptized the National hero of Cuba: José Martí.
The facade has several towers and a central bell tower with its golden cross at the top.
La Iglesia del Santo Ángel Custodio mantiene su esplendor y belleza a pesar de los años, con su estilo neogótico. Es célebre no solo por su valor religioso sino que fue bautizado el héroe Nacional de Cuba: José Martí.
La fachada presenta varias torres y un campanario central con su cruz dorada en la punta.
The temple contains its doors of the entrance with ogival form. In its final altar it has three naves covered with barrel vaults, marble floors, twisted columns and polychrome wooden pews, with evident Spanish influence.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Holy Guardian Angel can be appreciated.
El templo contiene sus puertas de la entrada con forma ojival. En su altar final posee tres naves cubiertas con bóvedas de cañón, sus pisos de mármol, columnas torcidas y sus bancas de maderas policromadas, con evidente influencia española.
Se aprecie el Inmaculado Corazón de María, el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y el Santo Ángel Custodio.

Both the cathedral and the holy angel custodian establish retablos that underneath contain their urn or altar, used for prayers or placement of offerings, both to the Virgin Mary, of the Caridad del Cobre and other religious saints.
Tanto la catedral como el santo angel custodio establecen retablos que debajo contienen su urna o altar, usado para oraciones o colocaciones de ofrendas, tanto a la Virgen Maria, de la Caridad del Cobre y otros santos religiosos.
Although the stained glass windows are not very large, they represent religious scenes with subdued colors and add a spiritual touch to the interior environment. It is a beautiful, curious and original work of art.

Everything is well organized, quiet place, for all the catholic practitioner, me between masses and tours. I learned more about this beautiful religious art and listened to the topics discussed.
There were several chapels or votive offerings where the faithful leave candles, flowers or personal objects as a token of faith or gratitude.
Todo es bien organizando, lugar tranquilo, para todo el practicante católico, yo entre misas y recorridos. Aprendí más sobre este hermoso arte religioso y escuché sobre los temas hablados.
Sus Capillas u ofrendas votivas eran varias donde los fieles dejan velas, flores u objetos personales como muestra de fe o gratitud.
This church is nestled on a small hill Del Angel, giving it a privileged position to observe part of the city, is a cultural heritage, which deserves all the support and attention, so that it can continue its evangelizing work.
Esta iglesia esta enclavada en una pequeña loma Del Angel, dándole una posición privilegiada para observar parte de la ciudad, es un patrimonio cultural, que merece todo el apoyo y la atención, para que pueda proseguir su obra evangelizadora.
