Hello, everyone! I think this is my first time in this community (as far as I can remember), and I'm very excited to start creating content and reviews about one of my favorite topics: anime. Although it may not seem like it, one of the things I've always loved, as a good millennial, is watching anime. And I don't want to explain why or how I got started, because it would be a very long story. But it's worth mentioning that, like many things I had disconnected from for a while and have now brought back into my life, I also wanted this type of entertainment to be part of my life again.

¡Hola a todos! Creo que es mi primera vez en esta comunidad (que yo recuerde) y estoy muy emocionada por empezar a hacer contenido y reviews acerca de uno de los temas que más me encanta: Anime. Aunque no lo parezca, una de las cosas que siempre me ha encantado, como buena milenial, es ver anime. Y no quisiera dar una explicación de por qué o por dónde empecé, porque sería una historia muy larga. Pero si es propicio mencionar, que como muchas cosas con las que me había desconectado un tiempo, y que han vuelto a mi vida, he querido también que vuelva a hacer parte de mi vida este tipo de entretenimiento.
The last time I watched anything was when I finished season 3 of Shingeki no Kyojin (you can start doing the math). After that, I tried to catch up on One Piece, but I didn't get past chapter 910. So, for the past couple of weeks or so, I've been diving back into this world. The first thing I did was start watching Shingeki no Kyojin again, from the first episode. And then, to continue, I started frantically searching for something new, something that didn't have so many seasons and that would keep me hooked. So I found @jauregui98, who gave me a pretty substantial list of things to watch, topped by the review I'm bringing you today: Solo Leveling. So I'll tell you how it went.

La última vez que vi algo fue cuando finalicé la 3.ª temporada de Shingeki no Kyojin (ya empiecen a sacar cuentas), Luego de eso intenté ponerme al día con One Piece, pero no avancé nada más allá del capítulo 910. Y luego, para continuar, empecé a buscar como loca algo nuevo, que no tuviera tantas temporadas y que me dejara enganchada. Así que ubiqué a @jauregui98, quien me dio una lista bastante sustanciosa de cosas por ver, que estaba encabezada por la reseña que les traigo el día de hoy: Solo Leveling. There is a group of hunters in the world with powers that awaken at a certain point in their lives. Depending on the type of power and strength, they are categorized into ranks: S, A, B, C, D, and E. These ranks never change throughout their lives, and the higher the rank, the higher their status. These hunters are responsible for eliminating monsters that threaten to destroy the world. These monsters appear through portals that lead to dungeons. When you defeat them, you close the dungeon and can also claim materials that you can exchange or sell. Our protagonist is Sung Jinwoo, an E-rank hunter. He is so powerless that he is considered the most useless weapon. He is good for nothing but getting in the way. This changes when he enters a secondary dungeon where almost everyone dies, and he emerges not only victorious, but with a very rare upgrade: he can level up.
Solo Leveling is a South Korean Shonen adapted from a Webtoon. It has two full seasons, and they say the next one will premiere in 2027, so for now I'm staying where I am. I got so hooked on this that I watched both seasons in just three days. I needed this injection of animation and different entertainment to open my mind a little more and grow my creativity. I know there are mixed opinions about this anime, especially since it just won Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Awards. I haven't seen all the nominees yet, but I do have a few things to say about this one.

En el mundo existen un grupo de cazadores con poderes que despiertan en un determinado momento de su vida. Dependiendo del tipo de poder y de fuerza, son categorizados con un rango; S, A, B, C, D y E, estos rangos ni cambian nunca en su vida, y mientras más alto sea el rango, mayor estatus tendrán. Estos cazadores tienen la responsabilidad de eliminar unos monstruos que amenazan con acabar el mundo, aparecen mediante unos portales que dan ingreso a unas mazmorras. Al derrotarlos, cierras la mazmorra y además, puedes reclamar materiales que puedes intercambiar o vender. Nuestro protagonista es Sung Jinwoo es un cazador rango E, es tan poco poderoso que incluso lo consideran el arma más inútil. No sirve para nada más que para estorbar. Esto cambia cuando ingresa a una mazmorra secundaria en el que mueren casi todos y él sale no solo victorioso, sino con una actualización muy rara: puede subir de nivel.Solo Leveling es un Shonen surcoreano adaptado de un Webtoon. Tiene dos temporadas completas, y dicen que la próxima se estrena en 2027, así que por ahora me quedo donde estoy. Me enganché tan fuerte con esto que me vi las 2 temporadas en solo 3 días. Necesitaba esta inyección de animación y entretenimiento diferente para abrir un poco más mi mente y hacer crecer la creatividad. Sé que hay opiniones encontradas con respecto a este anime, sobre todo porque acaba de ganar a Anime del Año en los Crunchyroll Awards. Aún no he visto todas las nominadas, pero de esta sí tengo algunas cosas para decir.
I really liked it because if we understand the plot, it's like we're playing an RPG. The whole idea of organizing a group to go to a dungeon to fight monsters and win rewards isn't very innovative. But at this point in the series, it's just two different game modes in a single story. The S to E tiers and the leveling up.
However, if there's one thing I didn't like, or that shocked me a little, it was that Jinwoo leveled up very quickly, making him basically unbeatable, which bothered me a little. Because we must be clear that although we like to see the characters evolve, we also like to see how hard this evolution is for them. How they work, suffer, and at some point even think that they are going to be destroyed. A What's impressive here is that the level of animation and the pace of the series is so incredible that you don't give any of this much thought until the season ends.

Me gustó muchísimo, porque si entendemos la trama es como si estuviéramos jugando un RPG. Todo el tema de organizar un grupo para ir a una mazmorra a combatir unos monstruos y ganar recompensas no es algo muy innovador. Pero hasta este punto en el que quedo la serie, solo se trata de dos modalidades diferentes de juego en una sola historia. La de los tiers de S a E, y los de subir de nivel.Sin embargo, si hay algo que no me gustó, o que me causó como un poco de choque y fue que Jinwoo subía muy rápido de nivel, haciéndolo básicamente insuperable, lo que me hizo un poco de ruido, porque debemos estar claros que aunque nos gusta que los personajes evolucionen, también nos gusta ver como les cuesta esta evolución, que trabajen, que la sufran y que en algún momento hasta pensemos que lo van a destruir. Lo impresionante acá es que el nivel de animación y el ritmo de la serie es tan bestial, que no le das importancia a nada de esto hasta que termine la temporada.
From my point of view, I think it was a good decision to start with Solo Leveling. In fact, at one point I was very concerned that I had started with something excellent and that I wouldn't like anything else as much. Fortunately, I can say that this is not the case, as I am already watching other anime that I am loving.
For now, since there's still a long way to go before the third season, I can continue watching a good deal of other anime from the last four years that I haven't seen much of. Right now, I'm watching “The Apothecary's Diaries” and “Frieren.” The first one is currently airing, and I'm halfway through Frieren. Desde mi punto de vista, creo que fue un acierto empezar con Solo Leveling. De hecho, en un momento estaba muy preocupada de que haya empezado por algo excelente y que ninguna otra me guste tanto.
