Recently my wife sent me a meme showing a group of photographers, all pointing their cameras at the same spot, completely absorbed in getting the perfect shot. The text said: Only a photographer knows the feeling. When the camera turns, the great subject of so much interest turns out to be nothing more than a bicycle leaning against a wall. I laughed a lot, because it is a scene I have found myself in countless times.
Sometimes it seems totally absurd to people passing by that we spend so much time photographing a flower, a cat, or anything that catches our attention. But when your eye is trained, you are not seeing what everyone else sees. You are seeing the finished photograph, its reading, its meaning. You are thinking about how you will edit it, which focus works best, which aperture to give the lens to achieve it. In short, an endless number of things that are very enjoyable when you are doing what you love most, that therapy that gives you the greatest pleasure, which is making photographs.
Today I share with you a random selection of those things that at some point I was questioned for stopping to photograph. Is it madness, or do you also see beauty in the simplicity of things? I look forward to reading you.

Hace poco mi esposa me envió un meme donde se veía a un grupo de fotógrafos, todos apuntando sus cámaras hacia el mismo lugar, completamente absortos en lograr la toma perfecta. El texto decía: Solo un fotógrafo conoce la sensación. Cuando la cámara gira, el gran motivo de tanto interés era simplemente una bicicleta recostada a una pared. Me reí mucho, porque es una escena en la que me he visto innumerables veces.
A veces resulta totalmente absurdo para las personas que pasan a nuestro lado que le dediquemos tanto tiempo a fotografiar una flor, un gato o cualquier cosa que nos llame la atención. Pero cuando tienes la vista aguzada no estás viendo lo que todos ven. Estás viendo la foto terminada, su lectura, su significado. Estás pensando en cómo la vas a editar, qué enfoque es el mejor, qué diafragma darle al lente para lograrlo. En fin, un sinfín de cosas que resultan muy divertidas cuando estás haciendo lo que más te gusta, esa terapia que más placer te brinda, que es hacer fotografías.
Hoy les comparto una selección random de esas cosas por las que en algún momento me reprocharon detenerme a fotografiar. ¿Es locura o ustedes también ven belleza en la simplicidad de las cosas? Los leo.
