For the past couple of months, I have been attending a photography workshop where the conceptual aspect plays a major role. Little by little, I have been incorporating these ideas into my own style of street photography. It's not easy, because it's different from what I usually do, but I find it very useful for giving my work greater visual impact.
With that in mind, I went with some colleagues to visit one of the most important pilgrimages we have here: that of San Lázaro. My interest was not so much in the religious aspect, but in everything that happens around it, in the human aspect, in what is felt and experienced. Let me show you...

People's gazes always impress me because of the enormous emotional charge they convey.
The truth is, I don't know what the chicks meant; I just know that almost everyone had one, especially the children, and that really caught my attention.
Many colleagues don't like going on this pilgrimage because some scenes can be so harsh and sad. I, on the other hand, tried to show images by playing with the conceptual, but without straying from the harsh reality that I was also part of.

Hola amigos de #blackandwhite,
Desde hace un par de meses estoy asistiendo a un taller de fotografía donde lo conceptual cobra bastante protagonismo. Poco a poco he ido llevando esas ideas a mi propio estilo de fotografía callejera. No es fácil, porque es algo diferente a lo que suelo hacer, pero lo cierto es que lo encuentro muy útil para darle un mayor impacto visual a mi trabajo.
Con esa idea en mente, me fui junto a algunos colegas a recorrer una de las peregrinaciones más importantes que tenemos acá: la de San Lázaro. Mi interés no estuvo tanto en el aspecto religioso, sino en todo lo que sucede alrededor de ella, en lo humano, en lo que se siente y se vive. Les muestro…
Las miradas de la gente siempre me impresionan por la enorme carga emocional que transmiten.
La verdad es que no sé cuál era el significado de los pollitos; solo sé que casi todos llevaban uno, sobre todo los niños, y eso me llamó mucho la atención.
A muchos colegas no les gusta ir a esta peregrinación por lo duras y tristes que pueden ser algunas escenas. Yo, en cambio, intenté mostrar imágenes jugando con lo conceptual, pero sin alejarme de la cruda realidad de la que también fui parte.
