The first night in Hong Kong

The first night in Hong Kong has been wonderful. Tall skyscrapers. Great weather and lots of activity in the city that never seems to sleep. At every moment, there is someone walking out there. The streets are always lively.

This is one of the richest cities in the world.

Winter is definitely the best time to visit this city of around 7 million. The temperature ranges from 15 degrees to 20 degrees. The only places in Malaysia to experience that are at Kundasang, Sabah, Genting highlands as well as Cameron Highlands.

The iconic buses of Hong Kong

These buses are on time. They are fast. You need to get on a bus fast, and in around 30 seconds, it leaves.

The scaffolding made of bamboo covers the whole building. The traditional way of construction in Hong Kong is slowly disappearing as modernity arrives.

I saw a building next to my hotel and looking at how high these scaffoldings reach, it just amazes me how brave these workers are. I guess, scalling these heights have been something that they have grown up with.

The best thing is that you don't need to worry about the transport system. There is always a taxi around the corner, an MTR station nearby, as well as buses running till around 12 a.m.

The first night, I wanted to sleep late, 2 a.m.

11:58 p.m. The temperature was a low of 13 degrees Celsius in the evening.

In Malaysia, even when you set your air conditioner to the lowest, the lowest it gets is 17 degrees celsius and in Hong Kong, it gets to a low of 13 degrees Celsius. The whole time I stayed here, I did not even switch on the air conditioner. It gets so cold that even the windows fog up.

Some of the famous neon lights in Hong Kong have been replaced by modern LED lights. So, I am not sure how many Neons are still here at the moment. I did not see a lot, so every time I see what seems to be NEON signs, I would definitely get my camera out and take a photo.

The view of the streets that lead to the hotel.

That is night 1. Half a day spent in Hong Kong. It has been wonderful.

The city is clean. So well managed. I know that there are some parts which are slightly dirty, but there are not a lot. I have a couple of thousand photos at the moment of Hong Kong and none of them are ugly.
