I went down an interesting rabbit hole last night. I was browsing some of the silver forums online and someone mentioned making their own bars in a microwave kiln. That in and of itself is a story for another day. In that same topic, someone mentioned using silver clay in their microwave kiln to make jewelry. Silver clay? Soon, I was off researching and learning something new!
For those who don't have a full silversmith array of tools and equipment available, this silver art clay is an alternative.

It's certainly not for stacking. This sells for $190 on Amazon for 50g. It's quite the premium, but 50g of this goes a long way for someone who is making a pendant, charm or a ring. You won't need all 50g for it and the premium charged on quality jewelry more than makes up for it.
The idea is you take this clay and mold some of it into whatever shape you're making. Since it's clay, you can press designs into it, put it into a mold, etc. Then, on the .999 purity clay you can heat it over a stove, with a torch or put it in a microwave kiln. The heat burns away all organic matter used to keep it in clay form, so all you're left with is the silver.
They even have lesser purity variations in .950 and .925, although those require using a kiln.

I love how innovative this is! I'm sure it's probably been around for a while now and I'm just finding out about it, but it's still cool nonetheless!
They do have a 7g pack that's less expensive at about $39.

If this is something that calls to you, it just might be a way you can break out into making your own silver products without all of that silversmithing equipment!
