Vamos en una cuenta regresiva para las festividades y paso a un nuevo año, uno que aún es desconocido con cientos de posibilidades y es en esta parte donde me detengo, ya que la amiga @damarysvibra nos lleva a su nueva iniciativa Ocurrencias y excentricidades de fin de año y aquí se que habrá material variado.

Año nuevo 🎇
El año nuevo sin duda alguna es la fiesta de los adultos, y ya pasando la navidad, aquella mágica festividad de los niños, saltamos con los pies firmes a este festejo, aquel donde los parabienes parecen poema recitados de manera dulce y sincera (aunque hay muchos que usan eslogan aprendidos).
Pero, yendo más a lo profundo, el año nuevo ese esa cambió de ciclo, aquel donde dejamos atrás las malas experiencias, problemas y en su lugar ingresa la esperanza y convicción de que todo vendrá mejor para nosotros, además de agradecer por quienes están a nuestro lado y ante todo por la salud que cada uno tiene.
¿Pero qué es?
No es tan complicado, es solo el reinicio como dije anteriormente, es una instancia de nuevas oportunidades y aprendizajes, es decir: “es como si acabáramos de leer ese libro que nos emocionó hizo llorar, reír y hasta enojarnos y estamos listos para lanzarnos a un nuevo libro y descubrir su trama y personajes”.
¿Cómo se celebra? ¿Hay algún patrón que debemos seguir?
La respuesta es no, cada quien puede tener su estilo de festejo y lo que a uno le guste lo tiene porque gustarle a otro. Esta instancia está llena de variedad lo que otorga una gama de colores festivos enorme.
¿Tiene algún propósito?
Pues aquí puedo decirte que si, el propósito de festejar año nuevo principalmente es la renovación de energías personales y la esperanza de que todo lo positivo fluya en nuestras vidas y las de nuestros seres queridos.
Pero más allá de todo esto, que es la parte más emocional, hay una parte lúdica la cual entrega risas, anécdotas y recuerdos para posterioridad. Aquello de lo que hablo son: “las excentricidades, ocurrencias y también las cábalas”
Excentricidades de año nuevo, versión made in Issy
En año nuevo la verdad no soy muy excéntrica, nunca he quebrado un plato, o vestido una prenda íntima de algún color específico, menos llevar maletas alrededor de la casa o lavarme la cara con champagne y azúcar
Mi única excentricidad marcada es que el día 31 realizó un aseo profundo a toda la casa y lavó toda la vajilla que voy a ocupar en la cena.
Luego, después de cenar me gusta lavar toda la vajilla, copas y vasos y así recibir el nuevo año con todo limpio. Es decir: siento que así recibo el año sin pendientes de ningún tipo.
Además, me gusta usar un accesorio el día de año nuevo, ya sea una cadena al cuello o unos aretes pequeños, siempre he pensado que el brillo de la joya atraerá la buena fortuna.
Ocurrencias del año ¿las tengo?
Pues la única ocurrencias que recuerdo es de cuando era niña, que según yo sentía que mi gato debía estar presentable para la festividad, lo bañaba, secaba, cepillaba, ponía un lazo rojo en su cola y un moño en su cuello y hasta lo perfumada, lamentablemente, mi gato no pasó a enero o de pasar pasó, pero agonizando 😭 porque murió por la bañada de agua fría que le di (tenía seis años).
Cábalas…cábalas y más cábalas
Aquí sí que tengo material, no porque yo haga las cábalas, sino porque me tocó vender lo necesario para ellas. Anteriormente he relatado que trabaje en una feria artesanal, y no hay peor día en una artesanía qué el día 31.
Recuerdo que ese día fue una tragedia tras otra. La compañera que tenía las llaves no fue ese día porque se fue a **Melipilla (localidad de Chile) a pesar año nuevo con sus padres, y cuando llegamos no teníamos cómo entrar a la tienda. Fuimos a una ferretería y el dueño de esta envió a un trabajador con un napoleón (herramienta de corte) y cortó el candado 🔒
Abrimos a las doce del mediodía, por mi parte yo hervía de fiebre.
Aquella tarde vendí tantas velas del ritual de abundancia: amarilla, verde, roja, blanca, azul, naranja y violeta; qué me quede sin nada más en esos colores, pero, como soy mujer que resuelve, me metí en la parte baja de la vitrina (temblando de frío con un calor de 40°) y comencé a abrir las novenas de velas de los santos, allí tenía otra vez los colores necesarios los que me duraron la nada misma.
Allí estaba con la fiebre 🤒 bebiendo jugo de piña 🍍 natural que mi compañera Patricia me hacía y no me quedo de otra que improvisar por segunda vez, tome más velas de sal, las doradas, celestes, moradas para ponerlas en las faltantes, ya para las cuatro de la tarde estaba vendiendo las velas de figura para los rituales y es que las mujeres son las más creyentes en estos rituales (cábalas) que no están tranquilas hasta que las tienen.
Por cierto, si te preguntas cómo se hace y para que sirve el ritual=cábala te lo explico ahora.
En un plato playo, pondrás todas las velas formando un círculo, debes pegarlas con su misma cera, en el centro de las velas pondrás los siguiente:
-1 ramita de ruda.
-1 ramita de romero.
-1 ramita tomillo.
-1 palito de canela.
-1 hoja de laurel.
-Un puñado pequeño de sal.
-Un puñado pequeño de azúcar.
Todo esto simboliza la purificación, protección y atracción de abundancia en cuanto a la prosperidad personal y familiar, además de que entrega coraje para realizar tus propósitos y refuerza el amor en tu vida.
Las velas debes encenderlas al dar las doce y dejar que se consuman hasta su totalidad. Luego debes poner todo en una bolsita y lanzarlo donde corra al agua de manera constante y en caso de no poder hacer esto, debes enterrar la bolsista bajo una planta de ruda.
Y si se preguntan si he realizado alguna cábala puedo decir que es realizado el saquito de la abundancia y nada más.
Para este saquito necesitas lo siguiente:
-1 saquito de arpillera.
-1 rama de canela.
-Un puñado de azúcar.
-Un puñado de granos (lentejas, porotos, garbanzos).
-1 ramita de romero o tomillo.
-1 moneda
-Cinta roja.
Para esto, debes poner todo dentro del saquito y atarlo con la cinta roja, al dar las doce pones el saquito al fondo de tu alacena y esto simboliza la abundancia alimentaria en tu hogar.

New Year 🎇
The New Year is undoubtedly a celebration for adults, and with Christmas, that magical holiday for children, now behind us, we leap with confidence into this celebration, where good wishes seem like poems recited sweetly and sincerely (although there are many who use learned slogans).
But, going deeper, the New Year is that change of cycle, where we leave behind bad experiences and problems and instead enter with hope and conviction that everything will be better for us, as well as gratitude for those who are by our side and, above all, for the health that each of us has.
But what is it?
It's not that complicated, it's just a fresh start, as I said before, it's a time for new opportunities and learning, that is to say: "it's as if we've just finished reading that book that moved us, made us cry, laugh and even get angry, and we're ready to dive into a new book and discover its plot and characters".
How is it celebrated? Is there a pattern we should follow?
The answer is no. Everyone can have their own style of celebration, and what one person likes, another may not. This occasion is full of variety, which provides a huge range of festive colours.
Does it have a purpose?
Well, here I can tell you that yes, the purpose of celebrating New Year's Eve is mainly the renewal of personal energy and the hope that everything positive will flow into our lives and those of our loved ones.
But beyond all this, which is the most emotional part, there is a playful side that brings laughter, anecdotes and memories for later. What I am talking about are: "the eccentricities, witticisms and also the superstitions".
New Year's eccentricities, made in Issy
I'm not really very eccentric at New Year's. I've never broken a plate or worn underwear of a specific colour, let alone carried suitcases around the house or washed my face with champagne and sugar.
My only notable eccentricity is that on the 31st, I give the whole house a thorough clean and wash all the crockery I'm going to use for dinner.
Then, after dinner, I like to wash all the crockery, glasses and cups so that I can welcome the New Year with everything clean. In other words, I feel that this way I can welcome the year without any outstanding issues.
I also like to wear an accessory on New Year's Day, whether it's a necklace or small earrings. I've always thought that the sparkle of jewellery attracts good fortune.
Do I have any New Year's traditions?
Well, the only tradition I can remember is from when I was a child. I felt that my cat should look presentable for the holiday, so I bathed him, dried him, brushed him, put a red bow on his tail and a bow tie around his neck, and even put perfume on him. Unfortunately, my cat didn't make it to January, or if he did, but in agony 😭 because he died from the cold water bath I gave him (he was six years old).
Superstitions... superstitions and more superstitions
Here I do have material, not because I am superstitious, but because I had to sell the necessary items for them. I have previously mentioned that I worked at a craft fair, and there is no worse day in a craft fair than the 31st.
I remember that day was one tragedy after another. The colleague who had the keys didn't come in that day because she went to Melipilla (a town in Chile) to celebrate New Year's Eve with her parents, and when we arrived, we had no way of getting into the shop. We went to a hardware store and the owner sent a worker with a hacksaw and cut the padlock.
We opened at noon, and I was boiling with fever.
That afternoon, I sold so many candles for the ritual of abundance: yellow, green, red, white, blue, orange, and violet; that I ran out of those colours, but, as I am a woman who gets things done, I got down on my knees in front of the display case (shivering with cold in 40° heat) and started opening the novenas of saints' candles, where I found the colours I needed, which lasted me no time at all.
There I was with a fever 🤒 drinking pineapple juice 🍍 that my partner Patricia had made for me, and I had no choice but to improvise for the second time. I took more salt candles, the gold, blue and purple ones, to replace the missing ones. By four o'clock in the afternoon, I was selling the figure candles for the rituals, because women are the most devout believers in these rituals (superstitions) and they are not at ease until they have them.
By the way, if you're wondering how the ritual/superstition is done and what it's for, I'll explain it now.
On a flat plate, place all the candles in a circle, sticking them together with their own wax. In the centre of the candles, place the following:
-1 sprig of rue.
-1 sprig of rosemary.
-1 sprig of thyme.
-1 cinnamon stick.
-1 bay leaf.
-A small handful of salt.
-A small handful of sugar.
All of this symbolises purification, protection and the attraction of abundance in terms of personal and family prosperity, as well as giving you the courage to achieve your goals and strengthening the love in your life.
The candles should be lit at midnight and left to burn until they are completely consumed. Then you should put everything in a bag and throw it into running water. If this is not possible, you should bury the bag under a rue plant.
And if you are wondering if I have performed any rituals, I can say that I have made the bag of abundance and nothing else.
For this bag, you will need the following:
-1 burlap bag.
-1 cinnamon stick.
-A handful of sugar.
-A handful of grains (lentils, beans, chickpeas).
-1 sprig of rosemary or thyme.
-1 coin.
-Red ribbon.
To do this, you must put everything inside the bag and tie it with the red ribbon. At midnight, place the bag at the back of your cupboard, symbolising food abundance in your home.
