Hello dear Holozing friends, I hope you are all doing well. As you all know, the Christmas season has just begun, so this is my first drawing using a Christmas theme for fan art. And who have I chosen for this? Well, I've chosen our friend Glacion, the Ice-type dragon with a very pretty blue color. Since he's an Ice-type, I associate him with the snow of Christmastime. I've drawn him in an animated style, and adorned his head with a Santa hat. I hope you like it!
Hola queridos amigos de Holozing, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, como todos ya saben hace día entramos en los días de navidad, así que este es mi primer dibujo donde utilizo el motivo de la navidad para hacer un fan art ¿Y a quien he elegido para eso? Pues he elegido a nuestro amigo Glacion, el dragón del tipo hielo el cual tiene un color azul muy bonito, como es del tipo hielo pues lo relaciono con la nieve de la época de navidad. Lo he realizado de una forma que quede como una animación, y adornando su cabeza un gorro de Santa Claus, espero les guste!

For the drawing, I used Fabriano watercolor paper, as it's a bit thick, which is helpful for moisture. When using colored pencils, the paper holds several layers of color very well, up to five or six times, so you can use any shades you like. Here, I'm simply sketching the little ice dragon with a pencil.
Para hacer el dibujo utilicé papel papel fabriano para acuarela, ya que es un poco grueso útil para la humedad así que cuando se usa lápiz de color el papel soporta muy bien varias capas de color, hasta 5 o 6 veces por lo que se puede utilizar los tonos que quiera. Aquí simplemente hago el boceto del pequeño dragón de hielo con un lápiz.

After I finished the sketch, I started coloring the entire drawing with Prismacolor colored pencils. I used white to outline each part of the drawing, as this would create highlights and contrast with the blue, resulting in a more finished look. My goal is to paint it so it looks like a 3D figure; I really enjoy creating these kinds of drawings. After the white layer, I added the first few layers of the predominant blue, which I also mixed with other shades to darken or brighten it.
Después de que hice el boceto comencé a pintar con los lápices de color prismacolor todo el dibujo, con el color blanco pinté los bordes de cada parte del dibujo, ya que tendría iluminación para darle contraste al color azul entre luces y sombras y así lograr un mejor acabado. Mi objetivo es pintarlo para que quede como si fuera una figura en 3D, me gusta mucho hacer este tipo de dibujos. Después del color blanco voy agregando las primeras capas del color azul predominante, el cual también mezclo con otros tonos, ya sea para oscurecer o darle brillo.

Next, I began applying other layers of slightly darker blue, leaving the lighter blue only at the edges. I did this for almost the entire face. I also painted the eyes using Glacion's original colors, which are light purple with a touch of dark purple around the edges and a black center.
Seguidamente comencé a poner otras capas de color azul un poco más oscuras, dejando el azul más claro solo en la parte de los bordes, así hice en casi todas las partes del rostro. Los ojos los fui pintando también utilizando los colores originales de Glación, el cual los tiene de color púrpura claro, con púrpura oscuro un poco por los bordes con un centro de color negro.

To blend the layers I've been using so far, white is the perfect color; it merges the blue color under a blanket of clarity, and from that perspective you can darken or maintain the same line of the sun. What I do is add more darkness around the edges.
Para mezclar las capas que hasta ahora he ido utilizando, el color blanco es el perfecto, fusiona el color azul bajo un manto de clarida, y a partir de esa visión puedes oscurecer o mantener la misma línea del sol, yo lo que hago es agregar más oscuridad por los bordes.

I begin drawing what I consider the special detail of this drawing: Santa's hat. It's amazing how everything can change when we add this detail, no matter who it is. I paint it with its characteristic red color, gradually adding different shades to give it contrast and depth.
Comienzo a dibujar lo que considero el detalle especial de este dibujo que es el gorro de Santa Claus, es increíble como todo puede cmabiar cuando agregamos este detalle, no importa de quien se trate. Lo voy pintando con su característico color rojo, poco a poco con tonos diferentes para darle contraste y profundidad.

So then I work my way down the figure of the ice dragon, drawing and painting its limbs in blue as well, making sure to maintain the same tone and contrast. I also paint part of the chest a little lighter so it stands out against the rest of the body.
Así que luego voy bajando por la figuar del dragón de hielo dibujando y pintando sus extremidades también con color azul, pero asegurándome del que siga en el mismo tono y contraste. Voy pintando también parte del pecho un poco más claro para que pueda notarse frente al resto del cuerpo.

Once I've reached this point, I patiently begin the entire process again, little by little, step by step, repeating all the shades of blue to give volume to the whole figure. To finish, with a fine brush, I add white paint to areas like the eyes to create highlights, and also to the claws and edges.
Una vez he alcanzado este punto vuelvo a comenzar pacientemente todo el proceso poco a poco paso a paso repitiendo todos los tonos de color azul para dar volumen a toda la figura. Para finalizar con un fino pincel voy agregando pintura blanca en aquellos lugares como los ojos para dar brillo, y así también en las garras y en los bordes.
What did you think of this version of Glacion celebrating Christmas? I think that being an ice dragon, he has inside information from the North Pole about who will receive gifts this year, hehe. ¿Qué les ha parecido esta versión de Glacion celebrando navidad? Creo que al ser un dragón de hielo tiene información privilegiada dle polo norte de quienes recibirán regalos este año jejeje.
